I Help Beginners Build Profitable Websites
Welcome to the ultimate analysis of Tom Bilyeu for 2024.
I’ve spent thousands of hours watching successful business educators on YouTube, including Impact Theory. I even purchased Impact Theory University.
The goal of these profiles is to show you the different ways people have built 6 and 7-figure businesses online, so you can see what it takes to find your own success, starting today.

🤑 Net Worth
He’s not a billionaire yet, but he’s becoming closer day-by-day…

Tom Bilyeu lives in Los Angeles, California, in a million-dollar home that’s as much impressive as it is expensive.
✌️Common Praise
Many people including myself praise him for his candid interviews and connection with his audience.
❌ Notable Complaints
Tom tends to talk over his guests, sometimes even cutting them off mid-sentence, to tell a life story. It’s frustrating, although he’s learned to correct himself over these years.
🚀 The X-Factor
Tom is one of the few people within the personal development space who has actually built a business before trying to impact lives through education.
📈 Creator Trends
Tom had a massive rise in subscribers from 2016 to 2020, although his audience isn’t as engaged as what it once was. That said, there are many of us hanging out in his Discord channel.
🕵🏻♂️ Private Life
Tom lives with his wife, Lisa. They have no children and while they’ve thought about it numerous times, have opted against it.
🥗 Diet
Tom Bilyeu isn’t vegan or vegetarian, and doesn’t recommend either diet, but appears to live a Keto diet.
📚 Book List
Tom Bilyeu’s book list can be found here.
Out of these, I have read:
➜ Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
➜ Start with Why by Simon Sinek
➜ Principles by Ray Dalio (warning: this is a LONG read!)
➜ Mastery by Robert Greene
➜ Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins (holy shit!)
➜ Zero to One by Peter Thiel
👨🏻💻 My Verdict
Tom is one of several mentors that has massively impacted my life. From his engaging interviews to his life lessons, it’s rare to see anyone that genuinely wants people to well beyond their comfort zone.
I personally own an Impact Theory hoodie, 2 t-shirts, a calendar and a journal. Highly recommended!
About Me
I’m Joshua Smith from Australia. I have been building profitable content sites since 2011.
Today, in addition to managing my own portfolio, I actively help others on their journey.
How much does Tom Bilyeu make and how?
Tom Bilyeu makes $125,000 per month on YouTube through:
➜ Brand sponsorships (these are selective)
➜ YouTube advertising royalties
➜ Affiliate links and course sales
Tom’s building a media empire and is reluctant to overly monetize his channel.
In addition to YouTube, he gets paid around $70,000 for every speaking gig. I did see him speak in Melbourne in early 2020 and really enjoyed his speech. It was a small room with just 500 of us too!
Creator Praise
Toms’s audience really praises him for:
➜ Those engaging interviews in his custom-built studio at home
➜ His willingness to ask the tough questions and go deep
➜ Bringing on guests that few other creators can access
➜ His drive, determination, and willingness to show up every day
Over these last 5 years, he’s earned quite the reputation and one creator I respect highly.
Before interviewing a guest, he’ll sit down and read their book entire. This impresses every guest on the show.
Tom’s Red Flags
Despite their fame, Tom bilyeu isn’t without some controversy. These include:
➜ Often talking over his guests and breaking their cadence and flow
➜ Sometimes overly dramatic introductions, although these can be fun too!
➜ Injecting brand sponsorships halfway through his interviews. Distracting!
That said, as a creator, he cannot please everyone and these are minor annoyances.
The X Factor
Unique qualities of Tom include:
➜ He’s a clear communicator with a willingness to succeed
➜ He NEVER wants to retire and aims to build the next Disney
➜ He’s receptive to new technologies such as NFTs and cryptocurrency
➜ He brings us into his personal life and his daily routines
And most importantly – he absolutely loves his wife and her support.
My Verdict
Ultimately, I’ve learned a ton from watching many Impact Theory interviews on Youtube.
My key takeaways include:
➜ Create yourself through the power of daily habits
➜ Change your beliefs and identity about yourself
➜ Remind yourself of what’s truly important to you
➜ Work consistently and play the long game
Over a long-enough timeline, you’ll find the success you’re seeking. It’s a 10-year journey and one that starts today.
