The truth about selling on Amazon
It’s hard guys. The gurus will claim it’s easy, and millions of dollars are being made every month but college kids, but this isn’t true. It takes work and capital, consistent persistence, effort, struggle, challenges and headaches. Where opportunities lay, so do the sharks. They’re hungry, and you’re a target.
No one has a ‘smooth sailing’ Amazon journey. Get rich quick schemes don’t exist. Ever. Please buy a lottery ticket if this is what you’re after. And kindly please leave my blog now. Thank you.
If you’re having trouble locating it, there’s an X button somewhere here within the browser. Likewise, you’ve probably got messages on Facebook and Instagram that you need to check. Please redirect your energy there instead of doing research.
Great! With the 20% of you guys still left, I can simply outline more truths about selling on Amazon. You will need capital, and you can’t sell cheap shit anymore. Go $40 and beyond, otherwise you’re wasting your time. Focus on building a brand with products, not silly knick-knacks as we in Australia like to call them.
There are plenty of success stories of real Amazon sellers as well, those who’ve built million dollar businesses. Plus, there’s some horror stories too. The responsibility is on you to push through the challenges and pain-points. It’s not easy, but absolutely worth it!
Evaluating an Amazon course
Look – I’ve evaluated a lot of courses around here. Most are actually great, and I can recommend them. Some are purely rubbish created by some dodgy characters. Those in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and South Africa have all been on my blog. Heck, many Europeans have as well!
Here’s what I look for in courses:
- How long have the teachers been active as an Amazon seller?
- Is it about course sales or actual FBA student success stories?
- Do they give realistic time-frames or false student promises?
- Are there reviews online, and if so, are they mostly positive?
- Will the students be supported individually and in FB groups?
- What type of student events, seminars or conferences are held?
- Does the course content get updated often, including webinars?
- Where is the mindset of the common person in this community?
With that in mind, I can evaluate properly. I dig deep, I research well and cut through the BS. I’m appreciated frequently for this perspective of mine, which is quite unique in a world of noisy distractions.
Nine University Review
Kale Abrahamson and Taylor Hiott have created the Nine University course, also known as KT Nine. Through this review, I’ll evaluate if this is right for you.
These guys have produced some excellent results for students through their KT Nine All Stars awards. I’m instantly relieved when I see success stories within courses, and even more so when there’s more than 10. These guys have literally hundreds.
Here’s what I liked on the surface before joining:
- They have a strong amount of students already on board with the training
- Prior to creating their course, Kale and Taylor had already found success
- As mentioned, there’s hundreds of real Nine University reviews online
- The pricing was quite reasonable when compared to other online courses
- There’s a good supportive community of young people to work along with
Then I didn’t like the following:
- The course is catered for the younger USA college student
- There’s multiple releases of the same course which is odd
- Teaching the volume model, whilst FBA requires margins
- Ideally only suited for those in United States and Canada
- At this time, there’s only 11 verified success stories here
Those downsides should be taken into account. In terms of a review, I still had to get on the inside, so I could give you guys the full insights that you’re after.
Inside Kale Abrahamson and Taylor Hiott’s course
When I got on the inside, I found the following:
- Good course methodologies. Quite step by step, and not much left out
- Beginner friendly and you can work through it at your own speed
- Supportive community, though it’s mostly those under 30 years old
- Some good basics towards building a business, but isn’t that thorough
- Decent product selection and sourcing modules, quite in-depth here
- I spotted some recent course updates and recent webinars included
- The content was a little sensational and lacked realistic perspectives
- Excellent content for launching, SEO, keywords & PPC implementation
- Reasonably good presentation style, course outline and process flow
It’s a great course actually. For those in the United States and Canada, it’s something I would recommend for the younger person. I feel it’s certainly a step above what is offered by Kevin David, who happens to be associated with these guys.
Nine University isn’t so good for those in Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, South Africa and Europe. This is because they don’t have many students in these countries, and thus, have no live events.
There’s an expensive cost involved with flying to the United States for conferences. Some people may find more success with this course which has thousands of students and also
Starting with Nine University
As I said, this is a great course. Not perfect by any means, but still reasonably great. I’d recommend it for those under 30 years old in the United States, particularly those wanting a better course than what is offered by Kevin David or other YouTube Ferrari salesmen.
If you’re after a significantly better Amazon course, then check out this one. It’s 10x more established, with students worldwide. It’s created more millionaires than any other course. In fact, Kale and Taylor are likely to have taken this course and so you’re maybe receiving some watered-down content. Maybe. I can’t confirm for sure at this stage, but worth checking out that course, especially if you’re aged 30 to 50 years old, and want to work with those your own age.
I would recommend Nine University to a small and distinct group of people reading this. Certainly it’s not for everyone, and it isn’t a scam. Nine University does have some great success stories and reviews online, but also with some room for improvement. Often course providers use my blog to help them improve content for their students.
Closing thoughts
The truth again: Building an Amazon FBA business isn’t easy. Paired with a course such as Nine University course by Taylor Hiott and Kale Abrahamson, you’ll significantly improve your chances of success. Yet, there’s still a lot of work involved here, it won’t simply be a walk in the park.
Expect some late nights, tantrums and in-depth product research. Amazon FBA is changing everyday, and you’ll need to keep up. Focus on building a brand, instead of selling products online. Trust me – this is the way to go.
Expected resources: You’ll need 7 to 10 hours per week. You’ll need $5,000 minimum and $10,000 ideally. Starting an Amazon FBA business isn’t cheap, but nothing worth having comes easily either. Consider the cost of not starting today.
