Amazing Selling Machine vs Reliable Education: The Ultimate Comparison

This is the most comprehensive comparison of Adam’s Reliable Education compared to Matt and Jason’s Amazing Selling Machine by a REAL student of both.

I’m Australian and my insights and perspectives are written from this viewpoint. Whilst I generally speak in neutral English given my international readership base, I can now use some natural and local slang. 😁

Now, back to the courses. In many ways they are similar, but in some aspects, they are completely different. Through this contrast, you can gauge which one is best for your Amazon journey.

Upfront considerations

So before we jump in, let’s establish some things up front.

This way I’ll clear the air for us both.

See: I’ve built my vast readership based on integrity and disclosure. I’m becoming well known around Amazon seller camp fires.

So, please keep in mind that:

  • I’ve gone through both courses as a student and I know neither is cheap
  • I am also an affiliate of both and you don’t have to use my links here! 🙂
  • There are some geographical limitations of each course which I’ll cover
  • I have attended the student-only conferences for both courses previously
  • Students can get results in both, with each having many real testimonials
  • Lastly, it’s you more than the course or mentor that dictates your success

With that out of the way, let’s begin!

Course Content

Both courses are designed for the high-level Amazon private label seller. Each make it quite apparent that their course content is very in-depth and is designed for that premium business-user experience.

After all, if you’re investing several thousand for an Amazon course, you expect the caviar. I can assure you that both deliver on this front.

Amazing Selling Machine vs Reliable Education

Each has:

  • An extensive amount of content, between 40 and 50 hours of no-fluff training
  • Numerous interviews from successful FBA sellers who took the same course
  • A real focus on building a successful private label brand for long term success
  • Videoes that really stay on point, filmed professionally with updated content

Reliable Education does fall a little shorter here, given that it’s the smaller player which started a few years after ASM. Then, for almost 3 years, the course didn’t have an update and that update came just a month or so ago. It left students feeling a little frustrated with ‘home video’ content.

Compare this with Amazing Selling Machine which updates content every 6 months or so. New videos, new content. Props to these guys, they really keep it fresh!

I’m glad to see that Adam has stepped up his game now, with a full-on production studio producing regular updates. I think my comments here on the blog had something to do with that. Maybe. I hope so. 😉

The Amazon Support

Each course comes with support so you won’t be left alone. That support is mostly through their own Facebook group. I also offer email support for those who sign up through my affiliate links for each course, plus two other excellent bonuses.

Reliable Education

Adam’s team offers personal one-on-one phone coaching through their completely optional Platinum Partners program. Personally, I feel this is overpriced and doesn’t offer so much value.

I’m not the only one that feels this way. Just run with their base-level program for now, using the resources available in the Facebook group and course. You’ll probably do just fine, plus you get an initial phone call included.

Amazing Selling Machine

These guys also offer phone calls but this upsell is a lot less. I can’t recall the exact pricing, but you can certainly purchase additional phone support coaching if you feel you need it. That said, the upfront cost of ASM is much higher as I’ll cover later.

Sometimes ASM is offered with a complimentary coaching call or two. This is a time-sentitive bonus that helps drive more sales into their training program. I’m not entirely sure when the next opportunity will come, and I wouldn’t be waiting around or praying for it either.

A course with more mentoring

If having mentoring sessions is important to you, then consider Sophie Howard. She’s the only one on the market offering phone coaching through her board of coaches. That said, her course content and marketing approach isn’t up to these higher standards that RE and ASM provide.

Another good alternative is the Amazing at Home Facebook group. It’s one I’m apart of with dozens of RE and ASM students who decided they wanted something else. It’s run by Steve and Amy, two veterans that this community has a lot of respect for. They offer mentoring calls which are pricey, but these two are totally no BS.

Student Conferences

Right – this is the exciting part. Where the rubber meets the road. You’ll be meeting fellow students who are also on the journey.

I’ve been to both student conferences. Given that Reliable Education events are held locally here, it’s a real no-brainer.

And still, from Australia, I’ve flown to Las Vegas for SellerCon. Literally just for that event. 3 and a half days in USA. That’s commitment!

Reliable Education Summits

This is a very inspiring conference that you must attend if you’re a Reliable Education student. It’s a very heart-driven and motivational event, but with lots of content geared for selling on Amazon too. There is a sense of rah-rah but they keep it minimal.

I’ve written a very detailed review of my experiences with re summits

I feel that this event is more-so designed for beginners. 80% of the people here have not sold on Amazon before. Many are new to online business, but have experiences with past businesses or career success. It’s a high caliber group of people, that’s for sure. So if you’re already selling on Amazon, you may not find as much value here.

ASM SellerCon Conferences

If you want a real event for established Amazon sellers like me, then this is it. It’s full of content with only one up-sell which went for 10 minutes and was very reasonably priced. It included a 2-day workshop in a month’s time, and given I’m based in Australia, it wouldn’t be suitable.

I’ve also written a very detailed review of my experiences with sellercon

But look, as an established Amazon seller, I loved SellerCon. It was a real step up from Reliable Education Summits. 80% of the people here are live and selling on Amazon, with some serious income-earners. But I also met some beginners who really struggled with overwhelm, because it’s seriously a lot to take in.

Australian perspective

Remember – I’m Australian with this comparison written for those in Australia.

I recommend Reliable Education over Amazing Selling Machine for two key reasons:

  1. The initial course cost is 2x more
  2. ASM events are only in the United States.

In the past, they have been held in Florida, making it a significant time and cost investment, especially if you choose to fly business class. But there were dozens of Australians at SellerCon just like me.

If you’re cashed up and have the time, then consider ASM over RE events. ASM are less mindset and more focused on Amazon business building.

But you must take the course first and ideally have a crack at launching a product first. Both only run events once per year, so please take this into consideration too.

Student Communities

Both offer ways to connect with other students and read threads are a treasure trove of content. Not only that, but connections and potentially life-long friends and Mastermind opportunities.

This is a key reason why I recommend investing in a higher quality course such as these two since you’ll find higher-quality students to network with.

Amazing Selling Machine

These guys have 3x the number of enrolled students in their course, and for that reason, has more content in their online portal. Not only this, but there are significant success stories with many students still hanging around in this group to help beginners.

Access to this is within the course itself. I prefer this approach because I don’t generally like being on Facebook. You also get to ‘vet’ the people replying to your questions, because you can see their past history and rating.

Reliable Education

Reliable Education’s group, despite being smaller, is still highly active with a lot of daily discussions from top sellers. Adam himself also contributes. There is a more locally-focused approach with discussion on taxes, setting up an ABN or company structure and how to patent internationally.

This group runs on Facebook and has firm rules to keep it high quality. I still love this group and have formed numerous local friendships here, including numerous superstars that Adam talks about in his promotional videos. A great place to find a Mastermind if you’re a beginner!

Refund Policies

Both offer 30 day unconditional refund policies.

Reliable Education

Adam’s unique point of difference in this Amazon course industry is the welcome call. It’s there to make sure you’re the right fit for this program.

In fact, the team will gladly offer a refund if they feel that you don’t have enough starting capital to begin the journey today. It’s really to stop the tyre-kickers and dickheads from finding their way in.

Amazing Selling Machine

The team at ASM don’t offer a welcome call but if you’re spending so much on an Amazon course, you’re pretty serious about finding success. Sometimes coaching is offered as a bonus.

Having met dozens of other students at SellerCon, I found everyone to be of high-quality and seriously driven for results. Tyre-kickers and dickheads were seldom found.

Course Costs

The public sees both as offering a very highly priced course. But if you’re in business already, you know this is a very reasonable price.

How so? You’re accessing course content and Facebook communities with hundreds of success stories. Real students.

Go back 20 years and no one would share with you their business secrets. Today, with these courses, it’s give, give and more give! Without you spending hundreds of thousands for mentoring.

Reliable Education

The current course is $2,490 USD and previously was $1,997 USD back in circa 2017. Despite being an Australian-centric course, there are also students from around 40 students.

Given this, Adam has the course available in US dollars, as it’s the most common currency to compare. You’ll still get a tax invoice, given that RE is an Australian company.

Amazing Selling Machine

Most commonly, this course is priced usually at $4,997 USD. As I stated in this course comparison, you are getting more content. But not that much more, now that Adam has vastly updated his content.

I feel that Reliable Education offers more value-for-money. Yet each is still excellent for content, with pricing reflective of value and the intended student calibre.

Overall Verdict

Neither course is ‘better’ and quite simply both are representing good value for money. Australians typically choose RE over ASM, since the local events are easy to access from a time and financial commitment. Plus, there is a significant amount of Australian students to work with.

There is a sense of beginner-friendliness with Reliable Education. Adam spends the first couple of modules talking about mindset, so as to set the stage and really have you geared up for the journey.

But if you’re already here, and you’ve found past success in business, then you’re already well equipped. I’d choose ASM for this reason. The type of student that Amazing attracts is simply a bit better and more experienced in building a business.

I would be very close in assuming that ASM students generally have a higher starting capital base than RE students. Likewise, most would be on 6 figure incomes already with professional careers, with Amazon as their side hustle.

Adam Hudson vs Jason Katzenback and Matt Clark

ASM is where it’s at if you’re looking purebred Amazon training from a company that has been around for 8 years. It should also be noted that Adam is a former student of ASM and some of his guest interviews are also ASM students.

I like both courses and I’m proud to be a student of both. I’ll be head again to ASM’s SellerCon in 2020, and naturally, the RE Summit on the Gold Coast. I mean – I live here after all! 😜

Now, I haven’t pitched either course affiliate links, in my bid to keep this one squeaky clean and transparent. Because, let’s face it, you’re just looking for the real deal. Someone who’s done both, and someone who’s locally based, too.

But if you’re ready, then you may wish to use my referral links for both courses. ASM is here and RE is here with some excellent course bonuses thrown in. I’ll be at both SellerCon and the RE Summit in 2020 if you’re keen to meet a real student and Amazon seller with results.

Closing thoughts

There is no shortcut to success on Amazon, but investing in your education is going to reduce the learning curve in the early stages. It’s you, more than the course or mentoring, that is going to dictate the results. Especially as these two are very much premium Amazon FBA courses that have produced a lot of results.

My advice? Find the one that better suits you. If money and time is no issue, then run with Amazing Selling Machine. If you’re on a leaner budget and want significantly more Australian students to engage with, then go Reliable Education.

Focus on playing the long game here. Take it easy and learn the ropes, before investing in more capital. I imagine, if you’re reading this, then you’ve got some decent working capital to launch your Amazon business.

You’re the type of person that these two courses attract, and you’re the type of person I like to work with too!

Amazing Selling Machine Australia compared to Reliable Education Sydney

It’s easy to rush straight in, but take the slower approach initially. Go live with one product, then start to scale towards that 7-figure exit.

Stay courageous my friend, as many people give up on the journey.

  1. Hi mate,

    Nice comparison !

You don’t mention the ASM “community” available on their website as a forum with subject categories as opposed to a FB group. I hate FB and the forum makes the community much easier to access, easier to search… It’s a game changer for me.

They also have a mentoring program in the forum, where you can always benefit from the intervention of identified experienced and successful sellers.

Also I find the ASM course much more structured and also more detailed. For example, they give specific advices on how to open a Seller Central in the UK, which is really a pain compared to the US.

Sometimes with RE, I have the feeling that it’s a succession of videos.

That being said, I love both 🙂

    Cheers
    Gilles

  2. Hi Joshua, Thank you for your insight..I initially came here to read about Sophie’s course and then reading your blog, decided to go for RE instead …I watched Adam’s free videos and felt more connected to him than Sophie..I was about to buy it and I saw this post..now I am debating between RE and ASM..you recommended ASM for people in North America…aside from the events is it really worth 2x the money? I am very motivated, with no prior experience but have the time and about 20000 in capital..ASM is going to cost about 3000 more..is it not a good idea to go with RE and use that money towards the actual business? Do you know people from North America who have taken Adam’s course and are successful? Would you kindly advise…Thanks in advance

    • Hi Lily, great to hear from you. Adam was originally a student of ASM actually and has brought the standard of his course up to meet theirs, but with a more affordable price-point.

ASM is still a better choice for someone with say $100k cash where the cost increase is minimal. If you’re on a budget, I would go with RE and as you say, use the savings towards your business.

Yes, there are dozens of people from North America in Reliable Education. Quite a few are based in Australia (it seems you all want to live over here! 😅) especially in Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast.

As for success rates, the guy who leads my own Mastermind is from San Diego and does 6 figures consistently. There are a few others by memory who have gone live and are selling.

It’s hard to measure “success” in my opinion. Someone profiting enough from their 1st order to repay the course tuition might consider themselves successful. Others might not feel successful until they have sold their business for 1 million dollars. For some, just that 1st sale is enough. A challenging metric to measure properly as we’re all different.

One thing is for sure: It takes time to go live on Amazon. So while there are dozens of North Americans inside, many are still working to get their first products on to the platform. Unfortunately, some people give up because of the work involved and fail to ever execute on their lifestyle goals.

If you live in a particular city then let me know since I can search within the RE group to see if there are any other members. On the other hand, if you go with ASM then you’re guaranteed to find others in your city.

Also, Amazing Selling Machine now allows non-students to attend SellerCon. You could, therefore, join RE and then head to an ASM conference and get the best of both worlds: More affordable course + live event. The next one is coming up in Austin, TX.

      I hope that helps! 😃

      • Thank you so much Joshua! This is what I was also wondering..whether I could take RE and still attend ASM’s events that are closer to home, it seems like the right choice for someone with my budget..I live in Toronto and although my main reason for doing this is to have the freedom to move somewhere else..I am not planning on moving to Australia.. :))

        • Yes – that’s what I’m saying. With the doors now open to non-ASM students to still attend their conference, you’ll be able to do RE and SellerCon.

  3. Hi Joshua, thanks for a fantastic comparison, so informative! If I go through ASM, would it be worth taking RE somewhere down the line (cost aside)?

    • Thanks Dalia! If price is no barrier to you, then sure! I would join RE for their student events which are better than ASM’s in terms of the community feel and world impact, plus the male/female ratio is more balanced. However, ASM brings a higher calibre of speakers which is worth heading to the US for once these travel restrictions ease.
