Start and Scale Program by Foundr (Gretta Van Riel)

I’m going to share my thoughts and opinions of Foundr Magazine’s Start and Scale Program through this review. Gretta Van Riel is the pioneer of this educational platform, as an Australian eCommerce guy, I’ll give you my perspective.

Note: There’s no connection as a business or personal between myself and Gretta. Or even the Foundr company and incubator. You won’t find an affiliate link here.

I wish more people were as transparent as I am. I started my blog here in 2011, and have held that open and honest mindset from Day 1.

Let’s get into it…

Start and Scale Program review

Looking on the inside, the program is very good quality. The videos are pretty much in chronological order, and it’s designed for the beginner or intermediate student looking to increase their skill set.

Some of the lessons include:

  • Creating an effective yet simple business plan
  • Setting up a Shopify store properly from day 1
  • Working properly with social media influencers
  • Driving traffic through SEO and PPC campaigns
  • Short, medium and long term business goal setting
  • Sourcing products and quality control strategies
  • Managing email marketing campaigns and systems
  • Customer service and reputation management
  • Increasing customer engagement, feedback & reviews
  • Lining your eCommerce business up for a 7 figure exit

Of course, there’s much more in the course. I just didn’t want to overwhelm you. Let’s just keep this simplified.

Start and Scale by Gretta Van Riel
The team spirit is alive and well within the community

I did find the videos to be very engaging, and found that often I was taking notes. This isn’t something you should binge watch at 2am. It’s a proper business program built by someone who’s built multiple 7 figure businesses, primarily on the Shopify platform via Instagram marketing strategies.

As I said, it’s arranged in good order. A few videos did look a little out of place, but that’s a minor complaint. I was really after high quality and actionable content. That’s exactly what I found inside the program.

Overview on Gretta Van Riel

Since Gretta is the primary teacher in the program, I thought it would be wise to cover her experiences.

She’s built multiple businesses. These include:

  • SkinnyMeTea
  • The 5th Watches
  • Drink Your Vitamins
  • Hey Influencers!
Gretta Van Riel review Hey Influencers
Gretta leads the Entrepreneurship program

The first 3 are Shopify stores which have been highly successful. The last one is her consulting company for those looking to connect with high-level influencers for effective product sales. She also works closely with Foundr magazine too.

Gretta really does know her stuff. She started with zero, but with a willingness to learn. I really do resonate with her no fluff and no BS delivery approach. She gets straight into content during the course. You’ll be able to follow along in each video, as many of the lessons are done step by step.

Negatives on the program

Let’s be real – I can’t write a review without some downsides. Start and Scale is no exception.

The main downside is that the course isn’t cheap. It’s a few thousand dollars. I’d love for them to offer better pricing, by way of an affordable payment plan. But unfortunately, this isn’t the case.

The program is priced high for a reason. They wish to work with achievers. Those with a winning mindset will see value here, especially as you’ll be working with an industry veteran. Not a university lecturer whose never run a business in their life.

Another downside is that the program is primarily targeted for Australians. It’s content for us, though Kiwis will also benefit too. Those in the US, Canada, the UK, Europe and other parts of the world aren’t likely to be able to come over for the live events and networking. It would be good if Start and Scale was extended with international conferences in the future.

Who takes the program?

I’ve decided to compile a list of their ideal student. This includes:

  • Those aged 15 to 45 (it’s a younger crowd primarily)
  • Individuals committed towards building a real business
  • Brands that have started but are looking to scale big
  • Established companies needing life-long customers
  • People wanting to build a business the right way
  • Those that aren’t looking for a get rich quick deal
  • Students seeking practical & actionable business advice
Start and Scale Review Australia
Gretta’s course is primarily composed of young people

There’s been hundreds of Australians that have joined their program. It’s got a very strong rating within the community, and it’s a tight-knit community at that.

Most people that join are beginners, hence the name ‘Start and Scale’. So honestly, if you’ve never run a business before, then it’s a good starting point. I’d recommend mixing the Shopify opportunity with the Amazon opportunity, as both do get immense buyer traffic.

Alternatives to the program

There really isn’t much that’s a direct competitor to this course. But I’ll give you some options, so that you’re aware:

  • Jack Delosa’s The Entourage
  • Dale Beaumont’s Business Blueprint
  • Kerwin Rae’s Business Coaching
  • Adam Hudson’s Reliable Education

You’ll immediate see that these are all men. Gretta brings a fresh approach to the table for which I’m privileged to see. I’d love to see more women becoming business coaches and consultants. That is, those that have experience in multiple businesses first, before making the transition. Gretta has done just that!

Conclusion

The course is excellent. It’s in the 1st version, and they’ve really packed it full of content. It’s one that I would recommend for those new or inexperienced with business in 2019.

eCommerce is moving quick, and you need to stay dynamic. Foundr is definitely ahead of the curve. Through the program, you’ll learn techniques and strategies to stay one step ahead.

I do recommend adding Amazon to the mix, given that the US marketplace has 400 million people and most of which shop on Amazon. I imagine the FREE course provided here in 4 parts will be immensely beneficial to your journey.

This is a solid course and my mentor has created it himself. Literally thousands of Australians have taken this course already. They’ve gone through the process, and it’s one that’s very similar to Shopify.

John Fitzgerald: Inside Custodian Wealth Builders (Australia)

Today I’m going to FULLY EXPOSE Mr John Fitzgerald. This Custodian Wealth Builders and InvestLoan review inside this Australian property and finance company will be in-depth. You’ll get the real idea if you should consider their property investing mentoring and strategy services.

Note: There’s no business or personal connection between myself and John Fitzgerald. Whilst I have invested in numerous properties, I choose to take FREE training to build a new portfolio of digital assets. This is because the cashflow returns online MASSIVELY outperform that of conventional real estate.

My blog has been going since 2011, and has been read by tens of thousands of Australians. I’ve covered a lot of topics for those interested in effective wealth creation and training courses. I’ve exposed scams, and even caused one company to shutdown. Custodian Wealth Builders therefore will be reviewed with sincere honesty, and I know you all appreciate that.

Let’s get into the review…

John Fitzgerald as a person

Firstly, John is a great guy, paired with a lot of property investing experience. In fact – he’s been in this game for 30+ years now. That’s what I admire first and foremost, unlike most property mentors who started just a few years ago, and likely only have 1 property to their name. John himself has dozens.

Secondly, John has been featured endlessly in the media. Upon reading Australian Property Investor magazine in 2011, I first discovered John Fitzgerald. Guess what? He’s still in the trenches today. He’s been heavily featured in both traditional media and online media as a bonafide and trusted source.

Lastly, this is my favourite part – John is a giver. The core reason that John builds his wealth through property is to give. He founded Toogoolawa School with a decent amount of his profits going towards the schools. Yes – schools, John already has 3, with his eyes on building up to 50 schools for kids that just don’t fit in. Watch this video to see more…

John is all about giving back to the community

When looking at any company today, the first thing I look at is their social contribution. What impact are they having on the world today? Where is their heart? It’s clear to see from that video that John really wants to do good in the world, unlike others in this property investing space.

Custodian Wealth Builders review

Let’s jump into John Fitzgerald’s company called Custodian Wealth Builders, through my thoughts and opinions.

They are a property investing and mentoring company, paired with their sister company called ‘InvestLoan’ for financing. They effectively create a long term game plan (up to 20 years) for those looking to build a strong property portfolio the right way. Consider them ideal for the busy person, or those that don’t know how to do research themselves.

Impressive statistics direct from Custodian Wealth Builders!

They’ve been in business for a very long time (the property mentoring side), and have helped clients for years. InvestLoan is a more recent addition. The average Australian property investor has just 1 property, whilst Custodian’s clients have 3. It’s hard to retire on just 1 property in my opinion, and I’m sure you’d agree.

Some questions that most people have on their mind is:

  • What areas in Australia do they recommend to invest in?
  • Who is their team, and what is their actual experience?
  • Are their clients happy and leave great reviews about them?
  • Is the Custodian Wealth Builders team able to help everyone?
  • How exactly do they do their property investing research?
  • Why does John Fitzgerald still work if he’s a millionaire?
  • Just how long exactly has Custodian been operating for?
  • Is the 7 Steps to Wealth book any good for beginners?
  • What are the live events like, and do people like them?
  • How come the majority of their investments are in QLD?
  • Where does someone start for their very first property?

Some very good questions, and I hope to be of assistance here. Hopefully through this review, I can cover all of them. Should you have any more, feel free to leave them later in the comments.

I’ll be open, honest and transparent. This way you can make an informed decision.

Answering those questions

Let’s start with Queensland, it’s where I live and invest in as well. Queensland is Australia’s fastest growing state, and has been for a very long time. Every 2nd person you meet here is from Sydney, Melbourne or Adelaide and has come here for lifestyle reasons.

The excellent year-round weather, increasing employment opportunities and low housing cost make it very attractive. Particularly, the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast areas are ideal hubs for investing, but this isn’t only Custodian’s focus-point. Obviously, their team does thorough research using accurate data, including some very reliable propriety software that has been tracking property prices for years. Especially as their team personally purchases properties for themselves as well.

Despite investing in both here in QLD and in SA, my best returns on investment are still online assets. Things that I’ve built as a beginner years ago, that are still paying me cashflow today. Day in and day out. There’s a FREE course here to get started now, and discover how to do this. Thousands of Australians have taken this free course already.

Through research and deep digging, I found that the vast majority of investors were very happy with Custodian Wealth Builders. The results they got for their clients was well-received, and indeed, John was able to fund the creation of more schools for boys with learning challenges. I think the investors and the school boys are the REAL winners here. Despite John being a millionaire, he’s not looking for retirement. He’s looking to leave a legacy, and give these kids a 2nd chance.

The book ‘7 Steps to Wealth’ is ideal for beginners, and an ideal starting point. Given that it’s now in the 8th edition, it’s great to see John constantly updating content for the current climate. The strategies of years ago won’t work today, the times are changing fast.

The book is a road-map, a way forward for those looking to build their wealth safely through property, through using a coach and mentor such as Custodian. Their events are one step beyond this, and are ideal for those ready for the next step where you’ll get to meet their experienced staff members, almost all of which have property investments themselves.

Downsides to Custodian

No review is complete unless I can give some negatives. Again – I want you as the individual to make an informed decision, so that you can reliably go ahead with Custodian Wealth Builders for your investing journey for the long term.

Firstly, their main focus is on Queensland properties, hence their base right here on the Gold Coast. If you want to invest in far out places like Tasmania or Darwin (hmmm why??!) then these guys won’t be able to serve you. That is, they’ve done the research, and really want to help you through what they believe is a more effective strategy.

Secondly, you will be paying retail prices for their properties. Occasionally, you might get a discount off the normal public price, especially if you purchase a few properties for your portfolio through them. So you could effectively do the research yourself, find a property without their guidance, and purchase it. But then again – if the property is the same price, why wouldn’t you use their expertise? They can’t mark up properties, since the valuers always reveal the true property value anyways.

Property investing is a 20+ year game plan, and Australia’s property market is declining

Thirdly, and this is something beyond the control of Custodian. We’ve seen in the media recently how housing prices are crashing, and so their strategies regarding capital growth aren’t going to be effective. Personally, I’d only go for cashflow anyway. Today I like to invest in only what will bring me effective cashflow, and this strategy is how I do it. Cashflow positive properties are only going to return $50 to $100 per week anyway, which is hardly retirement income, especially for a family of 4.

I certainly can’t paint a picture that these guys are bad, they’re certainly great. They’ve been in the market for 20+ years now, with thousands of success stories. Unfortunately, they can’t control the Australian property market, and all investing (and indeed business opportunities) come with risk. It’s you as the investor that has to weigh things up.

Building a cashflow machine

Did I get your attention? I hope so. I’ve build multiple online businesses, all without picking up the phone. I get 2 to 3 phone calls per month, predominantly from my father who can’t text.

I like to build digital assets that create cashflow for years. It’s the new age of investing, online assets that pay every single day. For those willing to work, and put in the time and capital at the beginning. Is that you? I hope so!

My mentor has helped me through this, and I’ve built to a full time income. I achieved this at just 29 years old, and got my working hours down to 4 hours per week. You could potentially achieve this, or better results, if you’re prepared to work.

Thousands of Australians have taken this course, plus plenty more around the world. Adam is a fellow Gold Coaster and property investor, who like me, decided to expand his horizons. Today we’ve both built fantastic businesses online that give us the time freedom to do what we want, when we want, and whenever we want.

Closing thoughts on John Fitzgerald

His company Custodian Wealth Builders is fantastic, and is ideal for the person who wants some help through finding the right investment property, but most importantly, actually having an investing strategy that works. Personally, I should’ve hired a mentor like these guys, then I wouldn’t have 4 properties that are simply not performing. Luckily, I was able to find my way out, as thousands of fellow property investors have.

I’d highly recommend using them for your investing and wealth creation needs. Their friendly team has a no-obligation philosophy, and they always want to give first, especially through their books and live events.

FREEDOM: When you don’t have to rock up for work on Monday morning

For those with basic questions or experiences, feel free to drop them below. Some people might have more complex questions, and it’s best to go direct to their friendly team.

Remember guys: I build semi-passive income on the internet. It’s easier than the 20 year game plan, and very much beginner friendly. In fact – it’s complimentary to property investing, so I recommend both strategies. Build capital and cashflow in online businesses part-time (7 to 10 hours per week) and funnel them to property investments through Custodian. Double win!

Today I help others do the same, with thousands of Australians trusting my results and choosing to follow suit. Feel free to look through my website, with plenty of free excellent resources for you to get started.

Higher Income Real Estate (Ian Ugarte) Course – My thoughts

I’m going to openly share my opinions in this Small is the New Big (HI-RES) review. This is the course / seminar run by Ian Ugarte in Australia for property investors.

My background experiences

I’m Joshua from the Gold Coast. I started this blog years ago as a handy resource for everyone to get excellent advice. It’s full of resources that will be beneficial on your journey.

Further, I started property investing in 2009 with the purchase of my 1st one at age 20. I’ve since bought several. Today I prefer to build online real estate and generate cashflow that leads to a full time income and the laptop lifestyle.

Best part – I’ve helped hundreds of Australians make a start. But more on that later.

The laptop lifestyle is better suited to some people than property renovations

I’ve spent $40,000 on my personal development and investing knowledge in that time. It’s actually been the best return on investment. I wouldn’t be here today without having purchased a few courses.

The former Carly Crutchfield (property development) course was the 1st one that I purchased. Everything I invest in, I put into action.

When I first saw Ian Ugarte, I thought this was just another Airbnb strategy. But this is something else. Something unique. I just had to look further. I wanted to know what the secrets were, and if the average Aussie could apply them.

Small is the New Big review

You’ve probably come across Ian on your social media pages such as Instagram and Facebook. Perhaps you’ve even been to a Property Income Accelerator event. I’ve even seen him in the Virgin Australia in-flight magazine. Now you’re likely just as curious too.

It’s likely you have some questions:

  • What is the unique strategy that Ian proposes?
  • How much is it for the course that he’s selling?
  • Is it any good? Truly an opportunity that works?
  • Can I make much money with this strategy?
  • Are there already some successful students?
  • Who exactly is Ian Ugarte? Where did he start?
  • What’s a lower cost alternatives if I’m broke?

And so on. Some good questions, and I’ll do my best to answer them here.

Ian Ugarte runs free seminars in Australia after his book ‘Small is the New Big’ which teaches the strategy. He offers a course at the end called Higher Income Real Estate System or simply called HI-RES. It’s quite creative, and unlike anything that the Australian real estate market has seen before. Props to Ian for being a pioneer!

Higher Income Real Estate System strategy

Firstly, the strategy is simple. We have HUGE houses in Australia. At least compared to most of the world. The people that come to Australia often comment about how large our houses are. There are plenty of people who are more than happy with a smaller house.

What you’ll be doing is identifying large houses and ‘subdividing’ them. That is, turning 1 large house into 2 or 3 smaller houses in key areas. The strategy won’t work everywhere, which is why it’s wise to use the knowledge that Ian provides in the course.

Ian Ugarte & Small is the New Big Review
The yields on property investing is typically small, but Ian has the answer!

In some council areas you’ll need approval, and some you won’t. Generally you won’t, because you’re only changing a few things on the inside. Perhaps you’ll add in 1 or 2 new kitchens, a load bearing and soundproof wall.

Some of Ian’s students add in new bathrooms, but actually most houses have ensuites so the house could be divided to include 1 bathroom each. Generally the exterior and gardens won’t need to be touched, or if they do, it’s quite minimal. The focus is on creating multiple living zones inside.

The basic premises for this strategy is increased cashflow yields. Instead of a 4 bedroom house renting for $600 per week stand alone, it could be ‘subdivided’ to rent as 2x 2 bedroom units for $400 per week each. This is definitely a simplified example, and Ian does provide more concrete examples at his live seminars and conferences.

Downsides and negatives

While Ian’s got a great course and all, no review is complete unless I can provide some disadvantages. Perhaps we’ll actually call most of these simply room for improvement. Remember: The course is actually very good at the core.

Particularly, the key factors are:

  • The high course price tag (I’ll cover this more in later chapters)
  • There’s a decent monetary cost to renovate each of the properties
  • Lower tenant retention rates (They will change over quite often)
  • Yields are higher than commercial, but not always is this the case
  • Some of your tenants might not like living so close to each other
  • Be prepared to be talking on the phone a lot (multiple calls daily)

Keep in mind that these are mostly obvious yet minimal downsides. The strategy is certainly a good one, a unique one and has created some great results for Ian’s students both in the past and currently. I can’t believe no one else is teaching this!

It’s actually a strategy that has been done quietly for years by smart property investors. Only it’s now that Ian is pulling back the curtains. So your competition is minimal, unlike everyone else who’s jumping on the Airbnb bandwagon.

The last point on that list about being on the phone regularly is an interesting one. I choose to build a passive income online so that I never have to answer the phone. Ever. And I don’t have any staff members either.

I make 2 to 3 phone calls per month, mostly to and from my father who doesn’t know how to text me. To be fair, he’s nearing 70… 🙂

The cost and potential earnings

The pricing for the Higher Income Residential Estate System isn’t cheap. The cost is quite high for the course, in the thousands of dollars as these programs typically cost. That said, most property investors do have some disposable cash, and knowledge always does cost some money too.

Ian’s book is a good starting point if funds are tight. The course really can save you from expensive mistakes that others might endure if you’re trying to figure out everything yourself.

You’ll get a little bit of info from the book, but most of the information is in Ian Ugarte’s course. Consider it as something that you’ll only have to pay once. I figure with these courses, that they shouldn’t ever cost you money. They should only make you money, through future profits.

Higher Income Real Estate review
You could potentially make money with this, if you’re prepared to work hard

In regards to potential earnings, it’s really up to you as the individual. I’ve known of several people to buy courses like these, and you never hear from them again. The courses are watched, then put on a shelf to collect dust. Such wasted knowledge!

Every course I’ve bought, I’ve put into action. I’ve had some excellent results, but also minimal results too. Ian does have a solid program that dozens have good results with.

If you’re looking for a get rich quick scheme, then this isn’t it. Please find something else, a lottery ticket perhaps. Because building a successful property portfolio takes years and years, decades even. Personally, I’ve replicated online results that takes some investors 25 years to achieve, in just a few years.

Content in the HI-RES Course

The course is quite extensive actually. I was quite surprised at just how much is delivered. Props for over-delivering!

Some of the content you’ll likely already know if you’re an Australian property investor. But it’s the strategy which Ian teaches particularly that you need to focus on. Try not to skip over the videos.

Some of the lessons include:

  • Finding the right properties for this method
  • How to spot the best suburbs for higher yields
  • Negotiating with tradesmen and getting quotes
  • Taking world class photography for higher rents
  • Best practices to self-manage the property portfolio
  • Unique ways to keep the renovation costs down
  • How to create joint-ventures with other investors
  • Building your unique portfolio over the long term
  • Consulting for others so they can do this strategy
  • Paperwork and documents so nothing gets overlooked

Another point is the opportunity to combine the real estate flipping strategy into this. I didn’t think about this one until I went to Ian’s conference. Let me explain…

You might buy a property for $500,000 that’s renting for $500 per week. Through the mini-renovation, the property now (split into 2) returns $700 per week. That increased rental yield now increases the price of the property to $600,000+ as property investors like high rental yields. So you could use Ian’s strategy not just for cash-flow, but for capital growth too.

I hope that made sense. I do try my best to keep things simple around here. Please drop me a line in the comments or Contact page if it doesn’t.

Ian Ugarte and legitimacy

Ian is the real deal, a property investor with years of experience. He seems to be a step higher than others in the space. He’s got a well performing portfolio, with some properties following this exact strategy.

What Ian Ugarte teaches is indeed a real and legit opportunity. There’s always going to be those who call HI-RES / Small is the New Big a scam, fraud or other dodgy names. These people really frustrate me.

It’s those that have total losing mentality. You probably know some people like this. They aren’t going to get too far down the road of financial independence. This negative thinking just leaves a lot of free space in the marketplace for those willing to get their hands dirty.

Ian Ugarte
Ian’s seminars are always packed…he’s the real deal

As I mentioned prior, the responsibility is on you to put the knowledge into action. There are no guarantees of success in anything. You can only get out what you put in.

Like a gold digger with a shovel. You need to dig. And keep digging. Eventually you’ll get those rewards.

There are hundreds of students who have taken the course. They’ve invested their own money, and dozens have started getting results already. There is definitely a high cost on the course, but also a high cost on fitting out a house with a new kitchen, the (optional) soundproof walls and new doors too. All before tenants move in, it could cost you tens of thousands of dollars for a slightly higher yield.

Personally, I’d prefer a lower cost strategy through online real estate. Plenty of property investors have decided to go down the new pathway of online cash flow.

The benefit that Ian’s strategy is that it’s overall a bit easier. Selling on Amazon has more components required to make it work successfully, based on my experience.

Some alternatives to HI-RES

There’s some good alternatives in the market. I’ll give you 2 of them, just to keep things simple. My blog is like that – simple yet real and honest. It’s how I’ve run it since 2011.

Firstly, consider the course by Aaron and Nicole Byerlee. It’s called the Bnbprofessional Blueprint. It’s training for setting up Airbnb listings, both on properties you own and properties for other landlords.

Now, it’s a good course, but it’s also just as expensive. The strategy may not work in your area unless it has lots of visitors and tourism. Dealing with tourists is also not everyone’s cup of tea. It’s also AirBnb which is pretty easy to figure out, where as Ian has a unique strategy without much of the competition.

Secondly, consider building digital real estate. That is, potentially with less capital outlay, you could have online cashflow.

I’ve been doing this personally for years, having started in 2011. Especially in a time of Australia’s great property price decline, it’s wise to think outside the box.

But in terms of increasing yields with residential property, Ian really does have the best option available in my opinion. More passive too!

Access to FREE training

If you’re interested in actually building real and tangible income online without the BS, then my mentor has an excellent course. It’s designed for the Australian property investor, and it’s completely free to get started.

This free training is for the following people:

  • Those looking to build a mostly passive income
  • People working and aged 25 to 60 in Australia
  • Individuals sick of the BS ‘get rich quick’ schemes
  • Those that just want the hard honest truth
  • People with finely calibrated BS meters
  • Individuals who are committed to work and learn
  • Families looking to build a better future

In life, nothing worth having comes easy. Otherwise we’d all be living the laptop lifestyle. But myself and dozens of people inside his course have achieved these results. This course is an excellent starting point, though Ian’s strategy is slightly easier to get started with.

Thousands of Australians have already taken the FREE Amazon webinar too and started their journey as successful Amazon sellers. I hope you’ll join us too!

For those curious – we all sell on Amazon’s US marketplace, whilst living at home in Australia. Personally, I’m on the Gold Coast. I rarely go to China or the US, but my products are available to 400 million buyers worldwide who love shopping on Amazon.

This is an opportunity to partner with the world’s richest company, and I don’t say that lightly either. It literally is an opportunity that very few people know about. Very few Australians know that this is even possible, and a unique strategy consider our current economic times.

My finishing thoughts

Ian Ugarte is a legit guy. He’s got some serious experience in property investing, and you can see he’s been in the trenches a while. His seminars are always packed with attendees, many of which end up buying the course.

It’s an excellent course. It isn’t cheap, but then it isn’t for cheap people either. Property investing is always an expensive process. I prefer a lower cost method to create cashflow, which helps me acquire more investment properties.

I wish I had found Amazon and the laptop lifestyle sooner. I’ve done in just a few years what takes some investors 25 years to do.

I definitely agree with this! No progress equals no results.

There are people in his course that have received some great success. But they’ve worked diligently and put in the hard yards. I hope you have the willingness and determination to be next.

For those with questions that I haven’t answered here within this Ian Ugarte review, please feel free to drop them below. I’ll do my best! The more difficult ones should be address to the HI-RES team or Ian Ugarte himself.

Glenn Twiddle’s Real Estate Training: My Opinion

I’m going to share my thoughts and opinions through exposing Glenn Twiddle and his training programs within this review. You’ll simply get my honest and truthful insight as to whether you should consider him and his Australian marketing programs for you personally or your agency.

Note: I don’t have a business or personal relationship with Glenn. He’s just someone who I’ve personally seen in the marketplace for a long time, given my immense love for property investing. I previously had a couple of his real estate training programs.

Today I build digital assets, effectively with semi-passive income online that takes an average property investor 20+ years to achieve. My blog is an excellent resource-base to get started. Especially in Australia’s declining property market.

Let’s get into the review…

Glenn Twiddle: Who is he?

Firstly, Glenn’s a former real estate agent turned sales trainer. He’s previously been a real estate principal and business owner. During his beginning days he started as a salesperson like many, and soon became #1 within his team, and then within his area.

Today Glenn makes millionaires. He’s a multi-millionaire himself. In fact – he’s probably turned more real estate agents into millionaires than just about anyone in the Australian real estate training segment. He’s not a 17th century college, but instead a results-based and driven individual.

Here’s what I liked about Glenn

  • He’s got many years of experience
  • He’s trained some industry icons
  • Glenn still invests in his own knowledge
  • LJ Hooker and Ray White are clients
  • The training is often kept up to date
  • He’s simply geared towards practical results, not theory.
  • Like myself, he’s sick of the noise, the BS, and the get rich quick gigs.

Glenn’s a likeable guy. He’s also got an excellent YouTube channel worth checking out. He posts a lot of great content there, so that you’re able to make an informed decision as to whether you should invest in his training or attend the Total Success Summit. Hint: I would recommend it, and I’ll likely be there myself!

You really will get the impression that he know his stuff. That this isn’t some theory from a 62 year old university lecturer who has never sold a house in his life. It’s actually some who’s had some serious industry experience, has a solid team in place and paired with his affiliations with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Eric Thomas. His training programs aren’t a fly-by-night operation. Glenn Twiddle has been running his training programs for real estate agents in Australia for over 10 years! Like – shit – that’s a long time in this marketplace. He’s even run through the GFC days as well, a dark time for some Australian real estate agents.

The introductory seminar is called Glenn Twiddle Live. This is an action-packed day for those new to his training programs. The events are run in the following cities:

  • Sydney
  • Melbourne
  • Perth
  • Brisbane
  • Adelaide

Strangely, Gold Coast (my home) misses out. But it’s only a short commute to Brisbane, and Glenn has run events on the Gold Coast previously.

Glenn teaches prospecting and marketing. He’ll teach you how to get more leads (that is, those wishing to sell their homes) so that you can build out your current listings. Sure – other coaches teach how to run open houses, negotiations, contracts and scripts, but none of that matters if you aren’t converting prospects. And how do you get prospects? It isn’t via letter box drops anymore. It’s through Glenn Twiddle, and the strategies he implements and recommends that are applicable for this year, not 1993. I had to bold that one for emphasis. You need to adapt, and a Facebook page isn’t enough.

Robbie Glenn Twiddle
This is Robbie. Robbie can’t sign new listings. Don’t be Robbie – get trained the right way.

There are still thousands of agents like this bloke using very outdated marketing strategies. Some are wise and are starting to use social media, but simply having a Like Page on Facebook means literally nothing, if it’s not converting for you. Are you actually building funnels? Have you really established yourself as the authority in your suburb(s)? What’s your PPC budget monthly? What more can you offer than just a photo of yourself? Some food for thought.

At the free seminar, you’ll be invited to join the Million Dollar Agent program. As I haven’t personally taken this program, I can’t do a review on this one as yet. I can say, however, is that this program has produced more real estate agent millionaires than anyone else in the Australian marketplace. When Glenn Twiddle claims that he’s the #1 educator in Australia, that claim is certainly backed up with testimonials and extensive media coverage.

Negatives to Glenn Twiddle

Though sharing my thoughts and experiences, I always like to share some negatives or downsides. This way you, as the reader, can make an informed decision. Let me share the key points that I established when looking at Glenn Twiddle.

Firstly, his Million Dollar Agent program isn’t cheap. Not by a long shot. The pricing is quite high, but only because Glenn Twiddle wants to work with the best. Those that call him a scam or fraud should look elsewhere, and also consider why their own bank balance looks a little thin too. Like Glenn, I can be a little harsh around here, but also, quite real too.

Glenn Twiddle’s programs aren’t cheap. But they aren’t for cheap agents either.

Secondly, Glenn’s got a strong personality. Very strong in fact, and some won’t resonate with him too well. Some people do want the softer approach, though the softer approach won’t get results in this climate either. Be a lion, not a gazelle.

Lastly, Glenn doesn’t do too many deals in the real estate market today. He’s primarily a sales trainer, so he’s not in the trenches so much seeing the struggles that agents really face. But perhaps that’s an upside – instead of hearing about the doom and gloom from the reactive people, Glenn chooses to be proactive with a solid plan for those who want to protect their agencies no matter what the Australian property market is doing.

Another point is that there’s a small group that think this is the magic pill. Take this program, and everything will change automatically. No – it won’t. You’ll be armed with practical knowledge, the same that is working for thousands of other agents, but you will have to implement. No one is forcing you. It’s all on you still, but you’ll be learning from an absolute gun!

Glenn is genuinely a good guy. He’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Those wishing to mess around and use old-style marketing concepts are most welcome to continue using that system. Meanwhile, competitors are coming into the market armed with practical marketing strategies that can be implemented right now to find willing home owners who are ready to list.

Who takes his training?

Glenn’s got a shit-load of success stories. I mean – he’s been doing this for 10+ years now, and has been an agent and principal long before that. But, there’s a core group of students that jump on board:

  • Those that actually want to win, not simply mess around.
  • Agents that are sick of chasing home owners and investors
  • Those that know the REAL money is made in signing listings
  • Agencies that will bring in their entire team to educate
  • People committed, and realize this will still require work
  • Those that are sick of not earning enough money as an agent
  • Agents aged 25 to 50 years old. This is Glenn’s core demographic.
  • Both men and women come along, though slightly more men.
  • Couples that work the agency as a team, Glenn has dozens of these.
  • Families that want to earn more, but actually work less hours
  • Most important – those that realize that this isn’t a get rich quick deal.

You will still implement. This isn’t a take some notes and go home gig. You won’t be falling asleep. You shouldn’t be leaving thinking “That was a cool seminar” but do nothing.

Those with realistic exceptions and the ambition to be #1 will take Glenn’s programs

Take what Glenn gives you, the material that has proven to work for heaps of his students, and put it into action. You will thank me in years to come.

Choosing a new business model

You will find some great training through Glenn’s training programs. They are very much applicable for real estate agents looking to build beyond a 6 figure income, through results-based marketing strategies. Where owners come to you, instead of you chasing them.

For some of you, however, you’re probably tired. You’re sick of the chasing around, the endless phone calls. The no-shows at booked inspections. The frustrated owners ready to look for a new agent. Especially, the expensive leads from realestate.com.au that go no where. Let alone Gumtree leads…(argh)

Some people need a change, and this opportunity could be that exact in this market

So it’s time for a better vehicle. It’s time for something where you can build a million dollar online investment portfolio. That is – digital assets. Things that you own, but you don’t need a million dollars to start. Something that can be done through minimal hours each week.

A 2019 alternative approach

Today I have digital assets that are the equivalent of a 2 million dollar investment property portfolio completely paid off. I can work down to 4 hours per WEEK if I want to, but I’d honestly get bored. Best part – I can work anywhere – yes – literally anywhere. A laptop and an internet connection, is all I need. And coconut water – that’s important too.

My mentor has helped thousands of Australians to start this process. He’s given plenty of people the opportunity to build their own portfolio, through selling products online. The issue with being an agent, is that there is only so many hours in a day. If you have children, it’s tough to get anything done after 6pm. Your weekends are just about gone as well.

Let’s compare that to me. I sell 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. Literally – every single morning I wake up and the 1st thing I do is check for overnight sales. I’m obsessed with making money all the time. That’s the difference – I sell products (anytime I want), and you sell services through time (which is limited, you spend a 3rd of it sleeping).

This is my mentor who’s offering a FREE online training course.

For this reason, I’d want to invite you upon some FREE training. It’s through a community right here, that my multi-millionaire mentor has provided. This course is done in 4 sections, so that you can make your own way through it, part by part. You’ll discover exactly how I got started, but also, so have thousands of Australians. Yes – including some of Glenn’s own students too.

Closing thoughts

Glenn Twiddle and his Million Dollar Agent program is an excellent starting point. Especially if you haven’t eclipsed the 6 figure income yet. I personally make 6 figures annually, all from home without picking up the phone. Ever. Unless my tech-challenged father calls, that is!

Go along to one of Glenn’s one day FREE events. You’ll be surrounded by fellow go-getters, those willing to learn new concepts and be the #1 agent in their area, whilst their competition is armed with yesterday’s knowledge through outdated methods. I know which one I’d rather be. Skills pay the bills.

For those with questions, comments or even personal experiences with Glenn, I welcome you to drop them below. This is a safe place, where you can comment publicly outside of a company’s well-padded corporate responses. Provided what you share is real, factual and is honest. Just as how I write.

I hope this review of Glenn Twiddle through my simple opinion (as a sales guy and investor) has been of immense value to you. Like his students, I hope that you get the results that you deserve, especially in these difficult financial times.

P.s. Don’t forget to get FREE access to the training course where you can build your own digital assets. Get started today, just like thousands of fellow people in Australia have. Including myself! Let’s get on the inside.
