FreeAgent Accounting: The FULL Review + Bonus

This is my complete FreeAgent Accounting Software review, which includes a FREE bonus for those interested. I’m a business owner, so this is written from my perspective.

Thousands of individuals like you reach my blog every month, looking for independent advice. I write open, honest and accurate reviews, with no sugar coating. Many appreciate that, and I’m sure you will too.

I’ve been a business owner for a number of years. In fact, I own two businesses, so a robust accounting software platform (preferably cloud-based) was needed. So I went looking…

I looked at dozens. From expensive packages, to the cheaper packages, and everything in between. There were some certain factors that were fundamental to my final decision..

  • Ease of use
  • Reasonably priced
  • Simple invoicing system
  • Straight-forward expense tracking
  • Automated bank feeds were a total necessity
  • A strong pool of existing, happy clients worldwide

When I came across FreeAgent, it really did tick all of these boxes. Further, I was really impressed with the following attributes.

  • Over 10 years in business
  • 70,000+ happy freelancers like me
  • Extremely mobile friendly, with excellent GUI
  • A seriously helpful support team and user help encyclopedia
  • Very easy app integration with platforms such as PayPal & Basecamp

Of course, no review can be complete unless there’s some downside. Well, perhaps some room for improvement really. This platform really is excellent to use. I feel this won’t suit you so well if you intend for your business to grow out to a medium or large-sized team. Those freelancers, plus those with just a handful of employees will find this package to be ideal for their needs. Secondly, there weren’t as many app integration possibilities when compared to market leaders such as Xero, so it’s wise to review their current connect-ability on their website.

In business, it’s the books that are the fundamental backbone. They need to be clean, easy to use and ready at any time for an audit. Likewise, your accountant needs to be able to access them easily, and interpret the data. This is quite easy through the FreeAgent platform.

Now, here’s the BONUS I was previously referring to. You’re probably looking for a FreeAgent coupon code, discount or promo code. Yes – this is an excellent idea. Anytime we can save on software is only going to increase the profitability of our business(es). So it’s wise to use this, if there’s one available.

Unfortunately I don’t currently have access to this for you. I have appealed to FreeAgent for such a code, and am awaiting their reply. That said, if you’ve found this on Google, you’re probably ready to get started with the software today.

The great news that I wish to share, is that I have FREE access to a video training course. It has been created by my good friend Adam Hudson, a very successful eCommerce guy and Amazon seller. One of my businesses involves selling on Amazon, and I make a full time income working minimal hours. No hype at all on that one. Access to that course is available on this page.

Let’s jump back to FreeAgent. As we’re moving towards the end of this review, I felt it was wise to cover their target market. There’s certain individuals that this is for, which I’ll cover in this list..

  • Those who appreciate simplicity
  • Freelancers that want an affordable option
  • Business owners that want a no-fuss solution to accounting
  • Accountants who wish to recommend an excellent platform to clients

If you fit within either of these points, then it’s likely this software platform will suit your needs. So, I would recommend this package.

So I do hope this review of FreeAgent has helped you make a clear, concise and informed decision as to whether this is right for you. Whether you’re an employee or self-employed, I do feel that many people will benefit greatly from this software package. For those with pending questions, you’re most welcome to drop them in the field below.

A list of the 7 BEST Antivirus Software Packages for Australians

The 7 Top Software Solutions to Protect Yourself from Viruses

This is a list of the best Antivirus software for those like me who live in Australia. You’ll discover the top antivirus software, including both free and paid options. I hope this is of value to you.

He’s the reason why every Australian MUST have anti-virus software installed.

When creating this list, I looked at a range of factors. This included:

  • Popularity in the market
  • Features that the software provided
  • How easy it was to setup and run longterm
  • The updates that the software package provides
  • Support features, especially if that support is Australian-based

So, let’s get into the list…

The Top Antivirus Software Packages in Australia

The best antivirus software evaluated for Australians was decided. It was a tough competition, and many factors were considered. In the end, these companies are what I feel deliver the most value. The 7 winners are:

  1. McAfee Antivirus
  2. Norton Antivirus
  3. Intego
  4. Bitdefender
  5. TrendMicro
  6. MacKeeper
  7. Bullguard

There is of course many others that will appeal to those in Australia that want top-notch security.

For those 7, let’s break them down a little further…

McAfee Antivirus

Easily the most popular on this list, and the one who’s probably been around the longest. The pricing is excellent, paired with super high-tech security. It works on all operating systems.

Norton Anti-virus

Another popular contender, and one that has been neck-to-neck with McAfee many times. Unlike McAfee, there’s a 60 day money back guarantee and they’ll also give you 25gb of cloud storage to make backups.

Intego

This software is only for Mac users like myself. Yes – today the Apple operating system is vulnerable to viruses as well. This software comes with a trial.

Bitdefender

Another well known household brand, Bitdefender provides excellent multi-layer protection. You’ll find a 30-day trial available here for new users.

TrendMicro

Not as popular as the rest, but certainly well known amongst computer buffs. These guys specialize in Malware protection, and you’ll get US-based support.

MacKeeper

Another great option for Macintosh users, this software is a true workhorse. It provides both online and offline protection, and is certified by Apple themselves.

Bullguard

This is an excellent choice if you’re connecting to public WIFI networks. You’ll be guarded against local attacks, even when not browsing the internet. Like the rest, this one comes with a 100% money-back guarantee.

Conclusion

If you’re looking for impressive reliability and excellent service, these 7 companies really do assist a lot of Australians in protecting themselves against viruses. Many have trusted their firewall and level of security features.

All 7 of these have rock-solid customer service, and you’re likely to get Australian-based support, or at the least, a western assistant. It’s unlikely you’ll need any support though, given how easy these platforms are to use. The best part is the sign up and download process is super easy for all of these.

I hope this list of the best antivirus software in Australia has been helpful to you. For those with further questions, you’re most welcome to drop in a comment below. I’ll do my best to help you out!

WC Fulfillment Review (Plus Shopify print on demand alternatives)

This review covers WC Fulfillment, the Shopify plugin, direct from a dude who lives and breathes eCommerce. This print on demand tool is road-tested here, and discover how this tool works, and how it can effectively build your drop-shipping business.

It seems that everyone is jumping on the drop-shipping bandwagon. Personally, whilst I think dropshipping is an excellent opportunity for beginners, selling directly on Amazon and eBay (with your own real product) leads to much better margins. That said, you do need capital. And most of those reading now aren’t flush with capital to start as a private label seller, as I was fortunate to have.

I do provide a 4-part FREE video course on how to sell on Amazon. You’ll likely learn some key concepts that transfer over to Shopify and dropshipping.

Overview of WC Fulfillment

When looking at this app, I considered a range of factors. I wanted something robust, easy to use, dependable and a service that ships FAST. My customers expect fast service.

There’s a few competitors in the marketplace that also offer the same services. Some even do a better job, for a lower price. Go figure! But this app is still well suited to most online merchants, especially beginners.

How it works

When you a customer places an order of a WC Fulfillment product on your website, the team behind this app will print, process and ship that product to your customer. It’s super easy, and an excellent way to scale a business. There’s been a number of these companies arriving in the marketplace in recent years.

WC Fulfillment Positives

I believe this tool is excellent in many ways. Not only is it free to install, I found it ideal for beginners.

I especially liked these factors:

  • Fast production and shipping (2 days on average)
  • You’ll only pay the wholesale cost when products sell
  • Around the clock 24/7 customer support channel
  • Excellent converting product mockups for each app
  • Guaranteed real product if your customer is unhappy
  • Complimentary training on how to sell more of your product

WC Fulfillment review

Plus, that’s not all. These guys have been in the marketplace for a while. They’re not a start-up from 3 weeks ago. They’ve received dozens upon dozens of excellent reviews, direct from real Shopify customers. There’s simply plenty of people that have found their plug-in for Shopify to be good value.

App Negatives

The main negative on this app is lack of support and availability for the South American and African marketplaces. Most apps won’t cater to these marketplaces either unfortunately. Note: you can still sell in these markets, but as a seller, you might be out of luck.

Generally, most merchants who look at print on demand apps that connect to Shopify actually choose something else. They consider alternatives to WC Fulfillment, as there’s some excellent choices in the marketplace. So it’s wise to consider other options.

Alternatives to WC Fullfillment

There’s a range of different choices out there, which include:

  • Prinful (Excellent all round choice)
  • Printify (Great for beginners)
  • Pixels (ideal for existing stores)
  • Printy6 (isn’t so comprehensive)
  • Tshirtgang (mostly for t-shirts only unfortunately)
  • Voodoo (great for 3-d printing services)

Those are the industry standards, and you aren’t likely to go wrong with those. They’re ideal for print-on-demand store owners.

Personally, Merch by Amazon is my pick. I like that Amazon already h traffic provided already. I just deliver them my winning designs.

Summary

I feel that WC Fulfillment does provide excellent value, hence why I do rate it quite highly in this review. It is after all, free to install. So I’d highly recommend that you at least trial it in your store for the next few weeks.

Should it not work out for you, be sure to use the list of alternatives provided. They do provide, in most cases, better value overall. This is why the competition is rated higher on Shopify.

Again, don’t forget to get instant access to the video training course for Amazon FBA. It’s in 4 parts, and will give you a pretty solid idea on how to start selling on Amazon, even as a beginner.

It’s my hope that you’ve gotten some value here. Should you have any comments, you can drop them below.

GoFar Dongle: The Complete Tracking Ray & App Review

I’m sharing my experiences using the GoFar Dongle in this review, as someone that lives in Australia, runs his own business, and uses it everyday. I’ve had this going for 6 months now, so I hope this will provide you with the insight as to whether this is right for you.

In fact, I run more than one business. My favourite businesses are those that I can run online so that I don’t have to actually drive anywhere. In fact, in 2020 I’ve stopped completely from driving for work.

These days, I’ve chosen to work exclusively from home. I’ve helped dozens of Australians learn more about online work using free training videos recommended here.

A background in use of the GOFAR Dongle

For the business I use the Dongle for, I’ll drive up to 700km in a day. Yes, a day. Sometimes I could make up to 20 stops in that time, and they’re all work-related. But on average, I’m on the road for work 200km per day with quite a few stops.

Initially, when I went searching, I found a number of apps on the marketplace. I certainly didn’t want to do the traditional logbook system. It’s 2019, not 1993. I wanted something strong and robust.

Doing hand-written logbooks and vehicle use deductions the old way is very challenging!

I almost bought a competitor in the vehicle mileage tracking space. It’s called MileIQ. It plugs right into Xero, which happens to be my favourite accounting App. Unfortunately, compatibility and popularity within the Australian marketplace was limited. This may have changed now.

The GoFar Dongle and Ray

Installing the dongle is easy. You’ve got the Ray which is really a GPS tracker which sits on your windscreen, and plugs into Dongle. Then the Dongle plugs into the onboard computer within your car.

Almost everyone can install these 2 within a minute. Think of it like a toll tag that’s connected to your car’s own computer system. Nifty! Plus the cord is super long, so you can really mount the dash ray anywhere that’s convenient.

I’ve never yet had an issue, even with parking in 40 degree heat that we get here in Queensland. Most parts of Australia aren’t immune to this heat either. It works every single time, even in a hot car. When it comes to servicing, my mechanic has had no issues with simply removing the dongle, it takes 5 seconds.

Mechanics will generally ask questions, as it’s not common for customers to plug into the onboard computer. Plugging into the computer does not affect your car’s warranty. They’ll generally plug it back in for you afterwards.

Using the GoFar App

The app is super easy to use. You’ll have to have bluetooth activated on your phone, and this will connect to the App. Once paired, you should see some lights on your Ray (the thing you’ll stick to the windscreen) and your App will be ready for use.

You’ll have to setup a vehicle as well, and provide some basic information such as kilometres. This gives the App a starting point, and a chance to understand your car’s characteristics. You’ll also be able to see if there’s any engine faults on the App, and what they actually mean in plain English. Even more nifty!

The one thing that annoys me, is that the kilometres aren’t always spot-on. This could be because I often take tunnels in Australia, and therefore lose GPS data. I mean, GoFar is only a few kilometers out at worst, so it’s not a huge drama. I do know that, when compared to others, my 99% perfect logbooks will be favorable in the eyes of the tax man. So I don’t let this downside get to me.

Another advantage is that you can use it on more than 1 car, especially if you have a fleet or you 2 different work vehicles. You can set them up in the app, but you’ll have to buy 2 separate GoFar packs.

The best part is that the App is FREE. It’s a one-time cost, unlike all the other apps out there charging $5 per month. These apps also don’t give you engine data, plus your driving style and history. GoFar has really taken the lead in the Australian marketplace for kilometre and logbook tracking.

The cost of the dongle is up around the $129 AUD mark at the moment. Their website is here. It could be cheaper, as sometimes they provide coupons and discounts on GoFar.

It’s worth checking review sites and the like as to whether they provide this. There’s a cost to shipping, especially if you live outside of Australia. I know that this setup is very popular around the world now.

Summary of the GoFar system

I have felt a lot of ease and peace of mind through transitioning my logbook system to the GoFar App and Dongle setup. It’s relatively easy to get started, and once you can get over the high one-time upfront cost, then you’ll find this system to be a breeze for years to come.

My experiences with GoFar have been excellent! Highly recommended in this review.

Sometimes I find that website visitors here have questions, and if that’s the case, you’re welcome to ask them here. I’ll do my best to help you out! I’m no accountant however, so please keep the questions to a general nature. 🙂
