My Rolodex of Tools
Ever wondered what it takes to run a personal website at this scale? Well, numerous tools and services that make my life so much easier.
The links below are affiliate links. You can assume that I may (or rather, will) receive a commission if you use one of these.
Most people are A-OK with that, given the general helpfulness that I’ve provided over the years.
Hosting
WorkWithJoshua is hosted by BigScoots.
Meanwhile, I own another 20+ websites at varying degrees of success. Given the volume of websites, I choose to host these on Siteground.
I also use Cloudways for a couple of my websites.
Previously I used Flywheel and WP Engine between 2020 and 2023, but it became cost-prohibitive.
WordPress
I’ve kept this website on WordPress for 15 years. Recently, I attempted a migration to Webflow but it proved too technical, even for an experienced geek like me.
And so, I remain on WordPress with Divi Premium as my theme builder. This design you’re looking at was built from scratch.
I also use WPRocket to improve my sitespeed and Rankmath for SEO.
The Rest
I’ve historically used Ahrefs for SEO and keyword research, as well as Semrush, Screaming Frog and Ubersuggest.
For call bookings, I use Calendly and to stay organized, I use Notion.
I use ProtonVPN while my emails run through Google Workspace, as it provides the best delivery rates.
Mentors
There’s no “one person” who I’ve learned from. There’s been hundreds within the digital marketing and SEO community.
Miles Beckler, Adam Enfroy, Anastasia Blogger and the Authority Hacker guys are all legends in this space.
Then there’s the All-In, My First Million, Naval Ravikant and Chris Williamson podcasts that keep me fueled.
