Worldwide Brands Review: Is It Worth The $299 Price Tag?

If you’re a dropshipper, you’ll be needing a wholesale directory such as Worldwide Brands. But are they worth it? Let’s find out in this entire review.

There is a range of online directory services available. They all use in-house research teams that find suppliers who allow dropshippers.

This is a good thing, because it saves you a lot of time and hassle yourself, especially as a beginner. At the same time, it also creates some competition as others have access to that same information.

Now being $299 USD, it stops a lot of those beginners in their tracks. After all, most people coming to dropshipping have such limited funds, for, well, anything really.

So let’s look if it’s worth setting up an account here.

Worldwide Brands evaluation

Straight up – I like this site. There are some great insights that they offer. At the same time, their website looks like 2003 called. 😅

I can see immediately:

  • They provide immediate access to wholesalers on their database
  • There are millions upon millions of legit dropshipping products
  • It’s a one-time price for lifetime access (They have lasted 20 years now!)
  • Their rating on the Better Business Beaureu is A+ and 5 stars on TrustPilot

So with their age and experience comes an element of trust. You are working with a company who has been around for a seriously long time on the internet.

I’ve found some cool stats:

Worldwide Brands trade shows

Now, that sets them apart from 95% of the rest. But there’s more…

Talking to product manufacturers

Which other online dropshipper directory talks with their manufacturers?

Then lastly, they have a certification program…

Best wholesalers

They also go above and beyond to certify the best of the best suppliers.

While the price of Worldwide Brands appears high, compared to the lower costs of other directories, there is a good sense of a safety net. Because you know they simply care about impressing their customers who will stick around for years.

Plus, there are times that Wolrdwide Brands provides a discount code or voucher. This can save 25% on your purchase. Start with of course the free trial.

Dropshipping challenges

I think we all know by now that dropshipping isn’t that easy as the ‘gurus’ proclaim on YouTube. It takes a serious amount of work to hit those 6 figure months, especially as you’ll just be making a 10% margin above costs.

Consider that you’ll need to:

  • Invest into Shopify, PPC ad-spend, using wholesale directories and more
  • Spend months and months figuring out the right suppliers that are reliable
  • Realize that there is a heck of a lot of competition driving down prices daily

But then 80% of the competition are complete newbies. Those beginners who aren’t making that much. There is merely 1% at the top making the fortune, many of which are NOT YouTubers. You wouldn’t have enough time to run your highly profitable dropshipping business if you spent those hours creating instructional videos. 🙄

Fact: There is more money to be made through the teaching of dropshipping with courses, than through running your own dropshipping business. But it’s still possible to make a buck! Worldwide Brands is a good company that reduces the volume of competition that looks for identical products like yours.

I mean – it’s 2019. Every person out there has an eCom hero course.

For that reason, it’s good to have a service like Worldwide Brands on your side. Their higher price, when compared to other services such as SaleHoo, keeps a lot of those beginners away. So you’ll simply have less competition in finding a good supplier for the long term.

For that reason, I believe it is worth it, if you’re seriously looking at this for a business model.

My recommendations

I respect dropshippers that can hit the full-time income figures, because it isn’t easy. It generally takes years to find this level of success.

When there’s a low barrier to entry, many people rush in to strike gold. When it comes to creating an Amazon business, that level is raised, because you need much more starting capital.

My recommendations are:

  1. If you’re totally broke, start dropshipping to learn the ropes of eCommerce
  2. Eventually transition over to becoming an Amazon FBA seller in private label
  3. If you choose that eCommerce isn’t your thing, then consider another startegy

I personally have 2 Amazon brands which I love. Are they easy to build? Absolutely not! It’s taken me the better part of a few years to get here, with still a long way to go.

If you do decide that dropshipping is your ideal business model, then Worldwide Brands would be ideal to have in your toolbox. This is because they seem to have the most comprehensive list of vetted distributors out there.

Given the minimal cost to get started, this approach is ideal for beginners who want to learn the ropes. But some of you are prepared to already step up to something bigger.

If that’s you, then open your mind to the potential of selling directly on Amazon, with your own products. Sourcing yourself in China and without having to deal with out-of-stock nightmares from suppliers.

That to me is a stronger business model. One where you have much more control, since you own the products. Plus, it’s easier to exit, if you build a strong business case.

Worldwide Brands: In summary

If avoiding the vastly high level of competition within the dropshipping business model is important to you, then be prepared to pay up for the more expensive tools and resources. Worldwide Brands gets my pick, especially have they are starting to get with the times…

Worldwide Brands Review
I’ve left the best to last – the Worldwide Brands App for iPhone and Android!

They have been in the marketplace for 20+ years now, to help dropshippers from around the world. Their ratings and reviews show that they are a very legitimate company that’s here to stick around for the long haul, with so few complaints.

It’s not a case of ‘Does Worldwide Brands work?’ but more so a case of ‘Are you willing to work?’. Because so many people buy the dream, but aren’t willing to do the work. It’s tough, frustrating, boring, requires capital and at times very lonely.

But if you stick around and work through the challenges, then the trickles of sales may one day turn into a torrential downpour.

  1. I checked their website, you are correct Joshua.

It looks a tad dated back in early 2000’s. I hope they modernize it down the road.
