My thoughts on Ecom Warrior Academy by Matt Lepre (Australia)

I’m going to expose Matt Lepre for what he REALLY is. This review of Ecom Warrior Academy is written by a fellow Australian. I’ll simply get you the trusted facts.

As a Gold Coaster, I started this blog in 2011. It details my eCommerce journey.

Similar to Matt, I own multiple assets online. I share a lot of cool content around here with affiliate links below where I might make a commission if you buy.

Now – I won’t BS you. Making money online isn’t easy, but it’s certainly possible. If you’re willing to work for it, that is.

Through building online businesses for the last 8 years, I’ve been able to live a lifestyle that most would simply dream of. I work as little or as much as I like when ever I like and where-ever I like.

When I see someone also teaching others, I’m appreciative. I’d love to see everyone having these same opportunities.

Let’s get into it…

Who is Matt Lepre

Matt was a university drop out, who like myself, decided not to let fate get in his way, and chose a non-traditional path. My short lived university life was a real challenge too, and my future career options looked bleak anyway. Sometimes in life, your greatest struggle is your greatest opportunity.

Since then, Matt has built several online businesses. These are done primarily through Shopify’s platform, with proper branding and social media presences. He teaches people an alternative education, but an education that gets results. Just without the huge university price-tag.

The internet has changed his life, as it has changed mine. We both earn 100% of our income online. I truly believe, and I’m sure Matt agrees, that setting up an online store and selling products online is the easiest route to financial freedom. Goodbye property investing with its 20 to 30 year game-plan.

You’ve likely seen Matt in the media. He’s branded himself quite well, and has been featured in a range of publications. This includes the Daily Mail, News Corp and Daily Mirror. It’s probably what’s brought the bulk of people to his Ecom Warrior Academy program, and indeed, to my review as well.

Some people are curious if they could be his personal assistant. Indeed – it would be the world’s coolest job as Matt Lepre’s PA. But your chances are 1 in 1,000.

That’s a minimum too, as I’m not sure how many thousand have applied to the role. I’d rather pay for his training and build my own business where I can control my own time.

ECom Warrior Academy reviewed

Wow – firstly inside the course is quite good. I mean – it’s a complete blueprint on how to build your own online store. Plus, not only that, there are extra modules on other topics. Let me elaborate further:

• It walks you step by step through the dropship process
• Matt has designed the course for 1st time beginners
• You’ll be building on the simple Shopify platform
• You can repeat videos, and more are added monthly
• There’s some advanced training for experienced peeps
• You can join together with a partner through 1 account
• Most students are Aussie, NZ, US, UK and Middle Eastern

Best of all, Matt’s program isn’t just Shopify or drop shipping. It also teaches social media marketing, how to get buyers to your website and mostly importantly, finding those winning products. You’ll learn branding, shipping and logistics plus dealing with customer service issues.

Being that you’ll be wearing many different hats, the course really will set you up properly. Expect to be jumping from task to task, either when starting out or when your online store is live and getting sales.

On the back end, there are a really cool student community as well. People who are driven and are sharing the same journey.

So this isn’t something you’ll be doing alone, there’s some real network opportunities. Likely there’s people in your local area who are already on the inside.

Who takes the course?

I’ve seen a range of people. Predominantly, it’s for those 14 to 45. Yes – even there’s some teenagers in there, and even some families joining together. Definitely it’s a younger crowd, since Matt is a young guy albeit successful too.

It’s designed for the following type of person:

• Those who are working and / or are currently studying
• People prepared to actually build an online business
• Individuals that are bored & sick of the 9 to 5 headaches
• Families looking to build a better life for their children
• Couples who have a desire to work together on a business
• People who are sick of MLM schemes like Amway (eww…)
• Individuals seeking a real way to get the laptop lifestyle

You’re likely to recognize yourself in there. If yes – then the course is for you, paired with an experienced mentor.

This isn’t a course by a 57 year old university lecturer that has never run a business in his life. It’s built by a business owner, who still owns businesses. Online businesses that provide semi-passive income. That you can learn within a month or two, not 3 years, by simply by taking the program.

Negatives & downsides

Of course, I can’t provide a real review on Matt Lepre unless there’s some negatives. Ecom Warrior Academy is no exception. So I’ll expose everything here.

Firstly, it isn’t cheap and is perhaps the most expensive drop shipping course around. The program isn’t for those with less than $500 in their back pocket. The training is designed for those who are ready to invest, where price isn’t an issue.

Secondly, Matt’s still young. He’s had some success over the last few years, but he hasn’t had 2 decades of experience in business. I tend to look for mentors who have been in the trenches for years.

My mentor has built multiple 7 figure businesses, and these are predominantly online. This isn’t a real downside if you’re still young and don’t want someone with lifelong experience. But those like me, with 8+ years doing this stuff, do look for those higher up the ladder.

Lastly, there isn’t that many student successes or testimonials yet, with some negative reviews cropping up. This is because the ECom Warrior Academy is fresh to the market. Some people just inherently don’t like those who sell courses, no matter who created them.

I don’t want to paint any picture that Matt’s course is bad. It’s a good course, with some easy room for improvement for the high price that you pay. I’m sure you’d understand, especially as I pull apart courses all the time to check if they’re legit.

I guess another point is that some of the videos weren’t in perfect order. That’s a minor issue that will be ironed out over time, especially as more content is being added in every month.

Who SHOULDN’T take the program

I provided a good list of those who join the course. But I also felt a list of those who should NOT join the program should be provided. That way, if you’re in this list, you can exclude yourself.

• Those who possess a losing mentality and give up easily
• People that claim ECom Warrior Academy is a scam (What the?)
• Individuals who are jealous of Matt Lepre’s success & life
• Lazy people who don’t want to actually put in the effort
• Keyboard warriors who cry fraud or scammer at literally anything
• Those that afraid of investing some money into real education
• People looking for a get rich quick deal. This simply isn’t it.

If you’ve found yourself in this list, or if you think that’s Matt in the picture above, then it’s a good idea to wipe off this program from your list. It isn’t the course for you.

You’re probably looking for something easy, or someone you can blame when things go wrong. Those with that mindset won’t last long in the eCommerce world, no matter which program they take.

Matt is offering education

His course isn’t a scam, but it is very expensive. It does save you the time involved with hunting around for the information yourself or doing this journey on your own. Either you can spend weeks or months finding the information, or get started today with the course.

All businesses take time, effort and energy to get off the ground. I always recommend to my students 2 to 3 years to reach a full-time income. You probably won’t make any money for your 1st year. I highlighted that for emphasis.

Sure – building online businesses are definitely easier than offline businesses, but it takes time to build your castle. In fact, there’s cost like the program, paying for Shopify, inventory and marketing that you’ll incur.

Matt has built more than one castle, and wants to charge a little bit of money to help you build yours. Go back 20 years ago and ask a millionaire how they did it. Generally, they would rub you off or walk away. Now guys like Matt are in the market, with proven drop-shipping results and are more than happy to help you.

How much money will I make?

You can make absolutely no money at all. This is pointed at those from the previous paragraphs, those that shouldn’t take the program. I’m surprised some of you are still here.

Success is dependent on you. There are no guarantees of income, and in fact, no guarantees of anything in life. It’s all on you, buddy. You might make the same, you might make less or none at all. Matt, myself and no one in this online space can guarantee anything.

There are many stories of Shopify success. You can Google them quite easily. These people have simply followed the same strategy that Matt Lepre teaches. I bet they never looked at this from an employee perspective but from a business perspective. And there’s always a risk in business, it’s just that it’s more minimized online. Not eliminated.

Alternatives to ECom Warrior Academy?

Yes – there are. For the Shopify segment in Australia. Gretta Van Riel has a similar course called ‘Start and Scale’ but it’s for Instagram influencer marketing primarily.

There is some drop shipping courses on the market. That said, drop shipping is a bad business model in my opinion, and isn’t recommended at all. The margins are slim (10%) whilst there’s a lot of competition too. There’s more money in teaching drop shipping, than the actual art of being a drop shipper. That said, there’s some seriously good money in Amazon as a seller with your own products.

My mentor, a person with 20+ years business experience, simply only wants true achievers. Likewise, I don’t work with tyre-kickers either. I look for those truly committed to success.

In terms of all-round business training, my favourite is Dale Beaumont. It just so happens that Matt is one of Dale’s top students too. So you’ll see that Matt himself invest into his own knowledge. Dale’s program is way more expensive than what Matt is offering for his students.

Some of Dale’s methods and teachings are what Matt will share in the course. If Matt is prepared to still invest in himself, despite already having results, are you prepared?

eCom Warrior Academy Job

The job role for the assist of Matt Lepre to accompany him on worldwide travels, which is impressive. You’ll be helping the Ecom Warrior Academy student base grow over time. As a personal assistant, there’s going to be a lot of work involved still.

Unfortunately, at this stage, there’s only one position available. I believe there’s been thousands of applicants and mostly women. 😅 Matt Lepre is single and is looking to date someone not for his money (as popularized by Valentine’s Day news) which is unique in the market.

It seems that, while this is a real job, this also was designed to draw more attention to the course. Cool marketing strategy. 🙂

Even if you’re unsuccessful in going through for an interview, do consider coming on board as a student, if it’s within your budget. Plus – owning your own digital business is the best feeling in the world, and you can run to your own schedule as I do.

My closing thoughts on Matt Lepre

My friends – the course is good as drop shipping courses go and it really saves searching for the information yourself. It’s not a theory-based course. Expect to actual have lessons where you can follow along and build your own store, starting today.

Hard truths

Remember guys: nothing in life is easy. Otherwise, we’d all be doing it. It’s always harder than what most gurus proclaim.

At least with Matt, he cuts through the noise. He wants genuine students who want to build a business, not just get that feel-good feeling that these programs sometimes create internally. He’s not cheap either.

ECom Warrior Academy is a great course with some small room for improvement.
