ManageByStats Review: How does it compare with JungleScout?

Let’s unpack the ManageByStats software through this comprehensive review. I’ll even compare it directly with JungleScout, based on my experience.

There is a lot of different software packages on the market. Not all are created equal. Some of them are quite expensive too, well over $70/month in fact.

Some promise the world, yet offer so little. But in most cases, you generally do get what you pay for.

So let’s unpack Manage By Stats and see what is on offer.

ManageByStats evaluation

So straight up, I can see that there is an immediate 14-day trial. JungleScout doesn’t have this, so a big tick right there. You won’t even need a credit card, which reduces friction for new potential customers.

ManageByStats free trial
Love this! No credit card required to give it a test-run for everyone.

Pretty happy when people can have a test-drive without opening their wallet first.

That’s what you’ll see next after signing up.

Best part is that they have separated their product depending on where you are on the journey. Most other software packages simply bombard beginners with too many features.

The software plans

In my case, I chose the Professional Plan. I’ve already been selling for 2.5 years at this stage.

Next you’ll have to setup your account.

Phone support

I thought that is both great that you can select the currency for your financial data, including for Australians that sell on Amazon USA. At the same time, I’ve not found any other competitors asking for phone numbers. I skipped it as it’s optional.

ManageByStats United States and Canada

So not only can you select based on currency, you can also select based on country. So good to see that Amazon United Kingdom and Australia are supported with ManageByStats.

On the inside

I’m not the biggest fan of the layout. It seems a little…confusing? At least, for a beginner, they may struggle to find their way around here.

I went straight into product research with ManageByStats. It is for sure not the focus of this software tool to provide excellent product and niche research abilities.

Catapult product finder

They really are focused on professional sellers like myself to more accurately monitor profit and loss statements within their Amazon FBA business.

What’s interesting is the PPC management service. As any seasoned seller would know, running campaigns directly on Amazon really sucks. It was created by computer geeks, not designers who actually care about user experiences.

PPC ad management

As I’m taking a few weeks away from my PPC campaigns, I haven’t sign up to the free trial just yet of their advertising package. I do look forward to using this feature soon.

ManageByStats vs JungleScout

This is probably the biggest question that I’ll no doubt get: “How does ManageByStats compare to JungleScout”.

The simple answer is that they are in completely different leagues.

ManageByStats is about data tracking, so you can better manage inventory and your Amazon profits. There is tack-on features such as access to customer databases, but the main focus is accounting and financial analysis.

You can start with a free trial. The pricing starts at $19.97 per month. Professional sellers like myself with 2 seller accounts would opt for the $59.97 per month plan.

JungleScout provides a more holistic approach. Not only does it also have accounting and financial data insights, there is a greater emphasis placed on helping beginners find a profitable product to sell on Amazon.

Unfortunately no free trials here. The pricing begins at $49 per month, but as most people would also want the Chrome Extension, it will jump to $69 per month. Annually that equates to $588 US dollars.

So which one? If you’re prepared to pay that bit extra, JungleScout is absolutely worth a whole lot more. Especially if you’re seeking that full time income on Amazon, and only desire to have one software tool that achieves the same outcomes.

That said, Helium10 is an even better bit of software for Amazon sellers. Certainly the cost is higher, but with Freedom Ticket’s course now included for free, it certainly provides incredible value for money.

My experiences with ManageByStats

I haven’t seen anything that has impressed me with ManageByStats. As in, unique features I won’t find anywhere else.

Sure, it is reasonably affordable software for managing your FBA accounting and financial data. At the same time, more expensive software packages such as ZonGuru, JungleScout and Helium10 also include this and much more too.

One thing that impresses me is the testimonials. From the team at Amazing, to Ben Cummings, StartupBros and Amazon’s own Marketplace Developer Council. This is one tool that is trusted by not just industry veterans, but thousands of others too.

As a slight upsell, there is a PPC-centric course for their members to upgrade to. Most courses pack sufficient content on how to best optimize PPC campaigns, so I’m glad that the standalone course is available.

In summary

Would I recommend ManageByStats? Yes. If you’re looking for a super clean interface without distractions, where you can better see your profit/loss statements and trends over time.

It is a great bit of software, and with the 14-day free trial, allows people to actually get a feel for the software, before pulling out the credit card. This is one downside of both Helium10 and JungleScout. ZonGuru does provide a free trial for its users, but more-so focuses on beginners, not established and professional sellers.

One thing that has come apparent, is that I personally need to better monitor my profit/loss statements within my business. As an existing customer of various software suites, I’ll be drilling down more into my Amazon business into what’s really going on. Thank you ManageByStats, as I welcome any opportunity to learn more.
