Welcome to the ultimate Kindle Publishing Income Review review for 2023.
I’ve spent thousands of hours auditing and reviewing the content from many online courses, including the popular Kindle course by Sophie Howard.
If you’re ready to get started and need to know:
➜ If Sophie’s course is a scam or is legit
➜ Whether it’s a good income strategy
➜ How much you can realistically make
➜ Why you’re seeing so many ads about it
➜ If Kindle publishing is as easy as she says
Then you’re definitely in the right place! 🙂

I’ve done a ton of research about this publishing program before hitting the publish button.
And I certainly have my own criticism of Sophie Howard’s kindle course.
So let’s jump straight in!
Kindle Publishing Income At A Glance

Thorough training, clear lessons, educator has results and coaching is provided.
❌ Notable Complaints
Sounds a little easier, more profitable and less competitive than it really is.
🚀 The X-Factor
Coaching is complimentary which is unheard of in this industry.
📈 Industry Trends
Kindle publishing ranks below eCommerce and content sites as an online business model. However, there is some demand for these types of businesses via Empire Flippers.
👨🏻💻 My Verdict
This course requires more work than it may appear on the surface, but stick at it long enough and you’ll eventually achieve some results.
Why You Should Trust Me
I’m Joshua Smith from Australia. I have been building profitable content sites since 2011. Today, in addition to growing and managing my own portfolio of blogs, I actively help others on their journey.
Now let’s be honest – course reviews are always a little biased but I aim to maintain neutrality and provide some realistic criticism through my own experiences.
I also want you to get the most out of this course. If you join through my link, I provide exclusive bonuses to help you on your journey and I hope to be sending you these real soon. 😃
Sophie’s Experience on Amazon
Sophie Isn’t New To Amazon
Sophie started selling on Amazon almost 10 years ago.
She was raising two children at the time and worked for the NZ government.
Through building her business on the morning bus ride to work, she was eventually able to quit.
2x Profitable Exits
Sophie has sold 2 FBA businesses in the past.
One of these was a tea brand and I believe the 2nd was an alpaca wool brand.
Teaching Since 2016
Starting with Blue Sky Amazon, Sophie pivoted to Kindle Publishing Income recently.
I’ve been critical of her video and sound quality, but this has improved in KPI.
The Course
Module 1: Welcome
This is a super short module which covers what you’ll be learning
I found this a bit boring so I skipped a little ahead.
Module 2: Learning The Basics
This is where Sophie jumps straight into learning
You’ll get the most value out of this module and it’s a deep dive into how the system works.
Module 3: Implementation
This is where you’ll start doing the real work
You’ll be creating your very first eBook or series of books, ready to sell on Kindle.
Module 4: Scaling Up Revenue
Sophie talks about additional ways to make money with Kindle publishing
This is also where you’ll find a ton of additional resources including checklists and resources.
Course Positives
A Complete Course
Sophie has refined this course several times over.
Unlike her previous FBA course which was a bit dis-jointed, this course appears more fluid.
A Supportive Community
The Facebook group is quite lively.
There are a ton of questions being asked and answered promptly.
Coaching Is Super Helpful
Most Kindle courses never offer any 1-1 coaching.
I think this is where the true value of the course lays.
Course Negatives
Sounds Rather Easy
Sophie is renowned for making her business ideas sound easy.
Her audience typically doesn’t want to work hard, so she has to make things sound easy.
Isn’t Quite Profitable
Kindle books typically only sell for a few dollars.
Most people, when seeking out information, typically look for a free blog post.
It’s only those die-hard serious readers who’ll purchase a book on Amazon.
Outsourcing Can Be Expensive
$1,000 to $1,500 for a book is one cheap book.
And no one really reads cheap books, so you’ll be paying more than expected.
While you can find cheap writers, they will use AI writing tools such as ChatGPT. 😩
My Verdict
It Could Be Better
Sophie isn’t new to education so I’d love to see her build a better course
Her videos are simply filmed at home, in front of her computer, with basic audio.
The course was shorter than I was expecting, although there’s plenty of live Q&As.
The layout, thumbnails and lesson plays could be better organized too.
The Business Model is Sound
While I do complain about the quality of the course, it is a real biz model
Empire Flippers have reported sales of numerous businesses in the Kindle niche.
There is also the potential to create books in languages other than English.
It’s Going To Require Work
Like anything online, this isn’t a walk in the park
If you have the potential to do so, I would write the first few books yourself.
You won’t be needing to hire and audit writers, and won’t lose much if the books don’t sell.
And with anything, keep pushing forward and avoid any distractions.
