Evaluated: eCom Uni Program by Jack Bloomfield (Australia)

I’ll share today my thoughts and opinions on Jack Bloomfield’s eCom University and eCom Upskill live training for teens in Australia. This review is provided from my experience in eCommerce, with no involvement from Jack or his team.

Like Jack, I also make 100% of my income on the internet, and certainly in the 6 figure range. I struggled massively in school, dropped out of university earlier and stumbled for a while until I realized the potential of making money on the internet. This blog of mine is a collection of resources geared primarily for those 30 to 55 years old looking to replicate my own results.

I am also a fellow parent, and want to instill the same entrepreneurship traits into my son as Jack’s parents have done for him. I’m hugely inspired by his success.

Let’s get into the details…

Who is Jack Bloomfield?

Jack has been starting, operating and building successful online businesses since he was 12 years old! I mean – he built his first website at age 8. Today, even as a high school student, he spends more time on making money than homework.

In addition to building his own businesses, Jack’s turned his attention heavily towards training and education. First – I’d agree that our school system and universities are (mostly) failing those looking to go down the university pathway. It’s great to see Jack helping fellow teenagers choose an alternative route to success, especially a business that requires only minimal capital. My own mentor teaches adults and parents aged 30 to 55 how to build a 6 figure business, with a free course available. More on that later.

With Jack’s presence in the media, he does get some flack. Particularly around universities failing so many people, despite the fact that Jack himself hasn’t gone to university yet due to his age. It’s wise to remember that Jack is particularly referring to business and entrepreneurship degrees, as opposed to critical knowledge such as medicine, law, nursing, engineering and science.

I praise Jack’s parents especially for allowing him to seek a 21st century alternative. For really encouraging him to pursue his passion, and spread his message around Australia.

What does Jack Bloomfield sell?

Most entrepreneurs are tight-lipped about what they actually sell online, including Jack. I personally sell home wares and sports equipment, plus (soon) hardware goods that you’ll find in Bunnings. We all strive to protect our financial interests, since we do make good income from our eCommerce products. You will find, quite typically, that us online business owners do well with just everyday products that aren’t complex in any way. In other words – we don’t sell big televisions.

In addition to his eCommerce products, Jack does sell training courses. Jack proposes primarily the drop shipping model, where you don’t own anything in the garage but you buy from another site for low, and sell it on your Shopify site for more. It’s somewhat similar to purchasing from wholesalers.

Bloom Education review

So let’s get into Jack’s courses through a comprehensive review. I’ll share with you my thoughts and opinions, so you and your teenager are both able to make a conclusive decision.

I have to split this review across the 2 courses that are offered. This is because they are quite different.

eCom Upskill

This is Jack’s $80 per month program. It’s the light version of his eCom University program, and is designed for those most budget-conscious.

It’s beginner friendly, and is designed for those with literally no experience. Dozens of teenagers across Australia have taken this training. It’s a good way to learn how to make money online, building your own online store and scaling your business.

It’s a program most focused on the ‘you can do it’ as opposed to ‘this is how to do it’. Whilst there’s some videos and content that is practical, it’s super short. You aren’t going to get everything here, probably 20% at best. It will, however, get you or your teenager motivated towards creating their own digital business. Consider this one to be at a Kindergarten level, where practical learning is minimal but a place to get a head-start in life.

eCom University

This is the program to purchase if you’re looking for the complete picture. The full blueprint, a step by step program to teach you the entire process. You’ll actually go step by step through the processes, unlike the Upskill program which has minimal content.

Also – the training isn’t cheap. Especially at around 2 thousand dollars Australian pop. But given the choice of buying my son a car or a course on how to build their own business, potentially to a full time income, I know which one I’d prefer.

Inside eCommerce Uni (Jack’s premier program)

What I do like about Jack’s program is that it isn’t just merely a course. There’s practical training on goal setting and business planning. Jack’s been around the ring a few times in this sector, as is shown through the training. Too often teenagers or parents find Jack through the media such as Sunrise, Channel 7 or the like, and think they’ll be millionaires in 7 days. It won’t work, sorry. Building a business, either online or offline, takes time, work, dedication and commitment.

Beyond this course, Jack does offer personal 1 on 1 mentoring which costs additional money.

Negatives to Jack Bloomfield

Whilst I could praise Jack all day long, especially with his incredible results and achievements at such a young age, I always want to through in some downsides. This way you can make a fundamental choice in this review where his eCommerce University and Upskill programs are right for you.

Firstly, there’s the cost. It isn’t cheap to purchase the more expensive course. Plus the monthly program doesn’t offer that much either. So you’re in a bit of a bind if you just don’t have the money available.

Yes – everyone gets a little surprised to see Jack Bloomfield’s course costs money. But it’s minimal.

Secondly, Jack teaches some touchy concepts. This includes accounting structures and taxation. Jack himself isn’t a lawyer or an accountant. It’s best to speak with the professionals on your own, and skip over these modules like I have.

Third, the refund policy is 1 day. 24 hours from purchase if you change your mind. The industry standard for courses is at least 7 days, and the best courses allow 30 days. That is, most course providers allow you time to fully finish the course, giving you time to evaluate whether it was actually valuable.

Lastly, Jack’s experience in business is actually minimal. He hasn’t had 2 decades or more of experience. I’ve been in the game for 8+ years, and my personal mentor is now 20+ years in. I prefer to learn from those who have been in the trenches for a long time. Though the younger crowd does really resonate with Jack, as he’s the only one in the Australian marketplace.

These are all minimal and easily improved upon. I’m sure Jack will take these onboard and improve upon what he’s delivering to the market in Australia. I don’t want to paint any picture that peopel should avoid Jack – his training is legit. It’s mostly good, with some room for improvement.

What is the drop shipping model?

I thought it would be wise to explain this one, since a few of you have contacted me with this question previously. I’ll do my best to explain this one in simple terms.

Drop shipping has been around for 10 years or so, but has gained a lot of traction in the last few years. It’s where you buy products from another website for less, and sell on yours for more expensive. After shipping, fees, and the like, you take the profit. The profit is often around the 10% mark, though with the advantage that you didn’t have to pay cash upfront for the product (or in bulk, such as 500 yoga mats!) to hopefully sell. You only buy a product from another website, once it sells on yours. You then get the other website to ship the product direct to the customer. Everyone wins!

Drop shipping can be complex, but Jack figured it out at age 12!

Let’s make it simple through using an example.

I decide I want to sell men’s belts. Particularly, belts for those who work in construction. So I build my own website ‘Tool Belts Australia’ and list some cool products online that I find on cheaper websites in China. I then mark up to realistic prices that our market is paying for comparable quality belts.

From here, I’ll drive traffic to my site. It could be from social media such as Facebook or Instagram, through being found on Google or simply word of mouth. When someone buys my tool belt for scaffolding, I then jump on the cheaper website with products ready to go, purchase with the money now in my account, and pocket the difference.

Drop shipping is challenging

If you’ve ever been on my blog before, as tens of thousands of Australians have, you’ll realize soon enough that I simply share the truth. I just don’t BS anyone, I’ve been in this game for a long time. I’ve seen and experienced every strategy, and I’ve seen the best from the rest.

I don’t recommend the drop shipping model at all. The model is low profit and a higher defect / return rate than owning products yourself, with your own label. It’s for this reason I recommend an alternative. There’s a lot of people making more money in this space selling drop shipping courses, than the actual business of drop shipping itself.

That said, the model is good for beginners. Especially people with limited starting money. Those looking to get their feet wet. People wanting a a bit of an idea on how to start making money online from Australia, with potentially worldwide customers. There’s still some risk involved, including Chinese supplier scams and the like.

You’ll be expected to be discovering a niche, setting up a store, importing products, driving traffic, finding customers, customizing things and a host of other activities. Most of these will cost money or time, or often both.

Note: the strategies that Jack teaches is easily applicable to Shopify and launching your own brand. So – don’t look at this as just drop shipping, though that is the main focus.

A better model that I recommend is Amazon. Selling on Amazon happens to be the #1 strategy right now, and simply has a higher chance of success. The great news is that my mentor also helps both parents and teenagers through the process, and now has 7,000+ students. Many of these are Australian.

Many Australians have taken this FREE course

Plenty of families have actually joined the course that I recommend. They’ve made it a real family affair, where you can all go in together. The kids have the ideas, the motivation, the time and the vision, whilst mum and dad have the capital and generally lack the rest. This can be a real team effort.

This is exactly how I got started making money on Amazon. I’ve helped inspire thousands of people to take the next step forward, through joining the 100% FREE course as a starting point.

Jack Bloomfield’s education students

The courses and programs that Jack delivers are meant for a certain sector of the market. Unlike the FREE alternative proposed, these will cost money.

Here’s the typical student:

  • Teenagers. Jack’s primary market is young people in school or uni.
  • Those wanting to chart a different journey in their life through eCom.
  • People that want realistic training that takes 1 to 2 months, not years
  • Individuals that value real world results, not uni slides and theory
  • Families and parents that want to inspire their children through Jack

Then there’s the person who shouldn’t join:

  • Keyboard warriors that think Jack Bloomfield is a scam & fraud (wtf?)
  • Those too lazy to do anything after buying eCom University or Upskill
  • People with a negative mindset, as those people simply won’t progress
  • Teenagers who think they’ll get rich quick in 5 seconds via eCommerce
  • Those that have no money, and need money fast. This isn’t a fast route.
  • People that only value uni-based training. This is real-life & practical.

If you’ve found yourself in that later list, then wipe Bloomfield Education off your list. Because it quite simply won’t be for you. If you want guaranteed results, then this isn’t it. Asking “how much will I make?” is employee thinking. This isn’t a job. It’s a business opportunity, a chance for you to re-write your journey in life.

Jack’s really only wanting to work with motivated teenagers, those hunger for success. Especially those that want to overtake their own parents income through eCommerce. It’s possible – and I personally have done it. I earn more than both my parents combined, and one has a double-degree!

Closing off

Jack’s a great mentor, and has inspired thousands of kids in Australia. He didn’t get rich overnight, it took him 5 to 7 years to become another internet millionaire. He wants to teach others how to do the same, for just a couple of thousand dollars. Absolute bargain if you ask me, especially as you can start whilst doing the course too. Instead of waiting 3 to 4 years like university.

I highly agree with this one, especially as it relates to making money online

It’s likely that it will take 2 to 3 years to make some decent income. Also – the particular model that Jack proposes isn’t so strong. Within my entrepreneurship community, it’s the least recommended model. Personally, I’d rather build a brand and business where I can control the entire supply chain.

And that’s what I do! Not just me, but thousands of Australians. Those who have learned from the #1 training company in Australia for eCommerce. Particularly, those that want decent results online. Likewise, it will take 2 to 3 years with this strategy too, but it’s a fundamentally stronger business model.

  1. The university course he runs I could never get a clear answer on the price. It varied from $2000 to $3200 and they kept trying to hard sell me changing how many limited spaces were available and then Jack apologised and swore heaps and blamed his team then said he wants me on board. So I think I’ll grind without him. I can thank him now for making me determined to make a success story of my own.

    • Hey Dan! Thanks for leaving a comment about your experiences here with Jack and his eCom University Program. I assure you, there’s always plenty of spaces with these courses. Most people out there use this ‘limited opportunity’ trick as a sales tactic. You seem like you’ve got a great mindset, and that’s more important than any course or strategy out there.

    • Hey Mate! This is Jack Bloomfield. I have just come across this now, thanks so much for the honest review!! Incredible stuff and there are certainly areas that can be easily improved on.

Thank you again mate and I hope this gets out to ensure we continue to inspire the next generation of entrepreneur, no matter how young or old.

      • Hi Jack, thanks for the comment and sorry for the delay. Your comment went to my spam folder for some reason? Glad you appreciate it mate. I appreciate all that you do for teenagers across Australia who are looking for a viable alternative in their future. Dropshipping is the best eCommerce starting point for those with minimal funds.

  2. I bought first ever course nearly 2 years ago, was refused a refund becasuse it was VERY basic (i learnt more on youtube for free..) and was told “ill make it better then if you’re still not happy you can have a refund” the new course was shit too (mostly just videos imported across from the old one) and was told again “you can’t get a refund you’ve watched too much..” (i watched them like i was told too lol) then he said ill get access to the new course (uni course 3 now) a lot of videos are imported across from the last one and they’re awful. VERY little info on how to do anything, course is still not even finished..? he has no care or concern for it.
As for upskill they’re short, shitty videos on there and it hasn’t been updated in months and its just neglected i feel really bad for anyone whos bought anything from him/is going to and would recommend 1000% against EVERY product he sells.
Is this coming from a “he ripped me off i hate him” place ? No. I have no hate for him or anger etc i dont really care i just want people to get over the hype of a kid who made some money. At the end of the day hes a kid and does not have very good social skills (as said in the reply above from Dan)
The biggest thing i found was how he was very small minded and had that school kid mindset, he doesn’t show anything in-depth in a fear of you might copy it (we’re wanting to learn…?) Same as a kids at school who wont share anything and dont want to help other kids.

Again no “hate” towards Jack he may have have made successful stores and is good at promoting himself etc BUT that doesn’t mean he can teach, and thats what this is about.. teaching.

    • Thanks for sharing your experiences, Aaron!

Clearly, some elements really do need to improve in the content, and I’m sure they will over time.

      • would be nice but when the new uni (3) was released it still has content on there that was meant to be added over 6 months ago and hasn’t. He’s made it and its sell able (would be worth $100-200 not $2k+) and he will just forget about it and continue with the next shiny ball.
