Joining Isagenix or Herbalife in Australia: Still Worth It Today?

This is a review on both Isagenix and Herbalife, particularly from an Australian, and I’ll expose these companies which aren’t pyramided scams. Often it’s not a good idea to join an MLM company anyway and I’ll evaluate those reasons why.

It’s likely that you have a friend or family member in these companies. They’ve probably contacted you, and are wanting you to jump on board with the party. I appreciate that you’re researching here.

I’ve been blogging here as an Australian since 2011. I’ve covered these schemes in much detail, to save people from these companies. A lot of people love my honest and results-driven approach to real business, and my writing style is a reflection of that.

Background on Isagenix and Herbalife

Both Isagenix and Herbalife are MLM distribution channels and have been in Australia for some time. This review reveals how this ‘scam’ is costing Australians millions every year. Truth be told, these companies are actually legitimate and would have otherwise been shut down long ago. The ACCC is paying close attention to this industry.

Fundamentally, these companies claim to create healthy shakes that will help you lose weight and maintain a balanced lifestyle. Isagenix is focusing their products on making the consumer feel full, like after they had a complete meal.

On the same time, Herbalife focuses on cutting down the appetite. This is so the consumer will simply not feel the need to eat as much. The ingredients of these shakes are different even if they both fall into the same category. The key ingredients of Isagenix are whey protein and Chromium, which prevent the hanger from developing in the user’s system.

When it comes to Herbalife, the key ingredient is soy protein which has the same purpose. But besides the health benefits that these products claim to bring for their consumers, they also offer opportunities to make an income. Or so they claim. Here’s why you should think twice before joining the Isagenix and Herbalife pyramid scheme!

An insight on MLM schemes

First of all, pyramid schemes are not to be trusted, and this tends to be a general rule worldwide. Isagenix and Herbalife are not pyramid schemes in Australia, as they do have products, but they are really close.

Expect the following:

  • You will need to chase friends and family to get them in on this scheme
  • The products are often overpriced so that commissions can be paid to reps
  • You’ll get rejection after rejection for your new ‘business’ because it’s hard
  • You will be encouraged to buy tickets for live events (but these are inspiring)

Whenever you hear of such a business, it might be better to remain sceptical, unless you find it to really make sense! After we move past the wall of scepticism, we face the challenge of making money.

So, you will have to buy certain products and sell them to your friends and family. For that, you will need to advertise those products and convince people to rely on them according to the benefits they bring.

In my opinion, the whole interaction of selling to friends and family feels a little ‘weird’. Maybe that’s just me or you might feel the same.

Friends and family will reject your calls about Herbalife and Isagenix

You will basically end up likely advertising a diet and ‘business opportunity’ that can potentially harm people. And this is especially true for those who take these two nutritional plans to extremes.

The Isagenix or Herbalife shakes do come with certain vitamins and protein but they could never replace a real meal! And by convincing people that they do, you would only create problems for those customers.

This whole scheme of selling “healthy” products, is put together to create an income for these companies and their distributors. But beginners like you, will not make a lot of money in the first months.

In fact, most of them, not even in the first year, if ever. It’s tough guys, it’s tough.

Making a full-time income with network marketing

It takes too much work for such a questionable income, and expect to be a volunteer for some time. You will not be able to estimate how much money you will make.

Even if a “healthy” product has a big chance of becoming popular fast, unless you are a nutritionist, it will be a complete hassle to try to sell such a shake. Both Isagenix or Herbalife know that people will spend their money on whatever has the word “healthy” on it.

But do you want to be part of the disappointment that those people will discover in just a matter of weeks? Because if they continue the shakes diet, there is a chance that there will be side effects.

Some local customers claim their hair started to get thinner or even fall out. Other Australians complained about developing certain skin problems. All these are side effects of not having a balanced diet and simply relying on the Isagenix or Herbalife products.

If you try the honest approach, meaning you expose your potential customers to the side effects that can potentially happen during these diets, you risk making absolutely no money at all.

The whole idea of these companies is to sell a product, not to create a legacy. And you need to subscribe to that concept before diving in the pyramid scheme or you will be losing your mind and some of your finances in the process.

Fundamental review on Isagenix and Herbalife

Both are simply MLM schemes who have been set up in Australia for some time. In both cases, your hard work will make the representatives of these companies richer, but NOT you. Which makes all your work be a waste of time on the long run.

At the beginning, it might be exciting, but you will lose interest as fast as you see that you are spending more than you can make. When you do make a cut of those sales, it will not cover your investment considering the time you spend on this business as well.

With this being said, you might want to rethink your strategy of making a serious income with Isagenix or Herbalife. These companies aren’t scams, but it’s hard to make any real dollars, if that’s what you’re after.

Fact: there are better opportunities available in Australia to create a side hustle. Check other people’s review of Isagenix and Herbalife in Australia and see what stopped them from getting as rich as they hoped to get. Because the same reasons might work against your financial success as well, and it is better to be informed about it ahead of time.

Alternatives to Herbalife and Isagenix

So what would I do instead? The truth is that digital-based businesses are knocking out network marketing companies like the plague. It’s becoming tougher and tougher for them to launch going forward, and the consumer is becoming more informed since it’s not 1994 anymore.

You can drive for Uber, host on Airbnb, move into the digital marketing space or eCommerce. There are just far greater choices available to us today from home.

After all, you found me through a Google search, just like you’ll easily find better deals than these two MLM companies.

I’d highly consider building an online business. I have multiple sources of income with the best part being that my customers always win, every single time. My favourite type of business is one that you control.

In summary

The truth is I quit network marketing schemes because the road to success was a lot tougher than many other opportunities. For this, I consider myself a winner actually having cut my losses short.

I didn’t want to be the 1 in 1,000 to win if 999 people behind me are losing. Winning is when you make a full-time income, after all, it’s what we all strive for when building a new business.

If you still want to give MLM a chance, take into consideration that, based on statistics, you could lose a lot more than you win. Products + Live events.

From there, so can your friends and family.

But then again, a small percentage do find success in both Isagenix and Herbalife. 👍

And if you’ve got the mental toughness to grind through the tough times, you too can join the rest at the top.
