18 Better Sites Like Slickdeals (Genuine Alternatives)

If you like buying cheap stuff through Slickdeals, then here are 18 more of the best deal sites available. You can save with discount vouchers when shopping.

Slickdeals is one of the most well-known communities which offer great discounts and deals, in exchange (hopefully) for product endorsements. Their vast membership pool shares great product deals and coupons daily.

But there are better sites if you’re an Amazon shopper. Let me help you find free or low-cost merchandise so you can snag a better bargain.

Deal Site Alternatives To Slickdeals

I’ve curated this list just for you. These are in no perfect order. Also, I’ve listed these for Amazon customers/shoppers, as opposed to my fellow marketplace sellers.

Slickdeals

Likewise, total beginners can learn how to start a blog and build a profitable business, with the free training available right here on my blog.

This Slickdeals alternative list is for the United States and Canada, but those in Australia, the United Kingdom and New Zealand can benefit too.

Let’s jump in…

1. CouponBlender

CouponBlender was started as a place where you can get the best deals without hassle and fakes. Best yet, they employ a team of professionals to ensure you’re getting the coupons that actually work.

The site is owned by a mother who became increasingly sick of the other sites with their non-working coupons. It was her son that built the site while she runs it full-time.

Their offers and promotions vary widely, making this the best platform for smart shopping.

Check out their epic deals: www.couponblender.com

Perhaps one of the best-known deal and bargain sites, the RetailMeNot site isn’t just restricted to Amazon products. There are numerous retailers, brands and even local food outlets on board.

2. RetailMeNot

You’ll find deals that you can redeem in store or just online. It’s an excellent portal to help Amazon sellers get their products into the hands of real consumers.

RetailMeNot

You’ll find some of the best deals available worldwide right here. This is a key reason why I’ve mentioned this one first.

Check out those deals: www.retailmenot.com

3. TechBargains

You’ve probably guessed that they offer technology deals…and you’d be correct! They offer excellent deals on home and work gadgets, but also electronics for travel.

TechBargains

This isn’t the old technology that is going out of fashion. Nope! It’s the latest stuff. Not only that, it’s also the latest technology in sports equipment, such as exercise bikes and rowing machines.

The best part is that you’ll also get expert reviews on a range of products, with exclusive TechBargains only coupons. I’m pretty impressed with the offers available here.

Check out their technology deals: www.techbargains.com

4. Cashbackbase

I love the Cashbackbase site as they change their deals frequently. It’s a case of add-to-cart and checkout ASAP, because the best discounted Amazon products are about to be sold….either to you or someone else.

Cashbackbase

The best part is that the products are reasonably high quality. I don’t like some Amazon deal sites as the products are low quality and often wind up in the trash can. Cashbackbase does their best, unlike Slickdeals, to actually present their users with the best possible products that you’ll actually want to keep.

But you’ve got to be quick! There are tens of thousands of people using their site each week so you need to be on the lookout for those highly discounted or even free products.

Find those almost free items: www.cashbackbase.com

5. Rakuten

Previously known as eBates.com, Rakuten has some of the best retailers on board. Generally not a place where you’ll find new Amazon products, but if you’re looking for established brands that have been selling for years, then this is the place to find those deals.

Rakuten

You’ll generally find excellent cash back deals across the major brands such as Oakley, Groupon, The Body Shop and Under Armour. This is quite different than Slickdeals.

Of everything listed here, this is my #1 recommendation for best quality products. Are they the cheapest? No, but you’ll find some excellent quality here. Think of it as an online outlet centre for products that need to clear shelf space.

Discover big brand discounts: www.rakuten.com

6. DealsPlus

DealsPlus is an older website that is now approaching 15 years in operation. You’ll find coupons from some of the mostly high-end brands on the planet.

Best of all, they use a community feature where you can get feedback as to whether discounts and coupons actually work. Because there is nothing more frustrating than clicking a link, and not realizing that it doesn’t work.

I also really like this website. It has a smooth interface and clean lines, paired with the community aspect where you can leave comments and ‘like’ the best deals of the day, which generally aren’t on Amazon. Be quick as those deals move fast.

Check out more here: www.dealsplus.com

7. Dealnews

This is another well known shopper portal which connects you with some awesome deals. You can sort through what offers are available to find those which best meet what you’re looking for.

With close to 15 million people a month on this 20+ year old website, it’s clear that they are here for the longhaul. This is the biggest discount website around.

You’ll find hundreds of deals available each and every day of the week. It’s quite likely that you will discover something that you need right there and then. I love that this site keeps the spam away, as they only want to showcase the best deals possible, which are often overstocked items available at Amazon.

Start with the biggest website: www.dealnews.com

8. Ozbargain

I get a lot of Australians on my blog. After all, I’m born and bred right here! So for that reason, I can’t forget Ozbargain, the premier Australian discount website.

OZ Bargain

The community aspect of this website is very strong. You’ll find users sharing deals that they have found, with the discount percentage and the time of which they have found the particular product. Others report if they have been successful in securing a great deal.

You’ll find some fantastic bargains, and now that Amazon Australia is gaining some traction, there are also discounts to be found on their marketplace. The live feed shows the current offers available across Australia, with some also available in New Zealand.

More about OzBargain: www.ozbargain.com.au

9. HotUKDeals

There is no way I could mention a good alternative to Slickdeals for Australians, if I didn’t also recommend one for those in the United Kingdom. Welcome to HotUKDeals.

HotUKDeals

I’m impressed with the range of high quality products available on this shopping portal. Not only that, but there is a discussion forum where you can discuss a range of topics.

Some big brands use this website, but so do private label Amazon sellers looking to launch their products to the masses. There is no requirement to leave product endorsements or reviews, as that is against Amazon’s Terms of Service in 2019.

Search those UK deals: www.hotukdeals.com

10. DealSpotr

This has a slightly different approach than most other deal searching websites. This is because not only are brands and shoppers able to connect, but influencers are also found here.

Dealspotr

It almost seems like this has a cult-like following. There are thousands of deals with peopel committed to search for the best deals and coupon codes available on behalf of other users.

There is a big promise that they have three times as many working coupon codes than any other website, which is a big call. Do they live up to expectations? There is only one way to find out. 🙂

Find out more about dealspotr: www.dealspotr.com

11. GoodSearch

Oh my! I have so many good things to say about GoodSearch aka GoodShop. This is because they donate a portion of their website earnings to charity, just like my partnership.

GoodSearch

They use a charity of the month program, plus you can choose a cause and even add your own. Some of the best known retailers are listed on this deal site, many of which you won’t find on Slickdeals.

One thing that I love is their app. It shows the coupon codes so you can simply launch and start shopping. It’s missing the community aspect that other sites have, but surely makes up for it with their charitable pursuits.

Work with a good cause: www.goodsearch.org

12. Brad’s Deals

This is a haven for finding high quality brands on Amazon, but at discounted prices. Brad’s Deals is yet another portal that has been around for years.

You’ll often find heavily discounted products for the Amazon seller to gain some marketplace traction. See – not all sellers on Amazon are big brand names, as individuals like yourself and I can sell on there. In fact, I’ve been selling for 2.5 years now.

When searching, I found some excellent coupons. Whether you’re shopping on Amazon or other merchants such as Under Armour, you’ll no doubt find some value here.

Start using this great alternative: www.bradsdeals.com

13. DealCatcher

Another one of my all-time favorites, DealCatcher has joined a lot of stores, retailers and even Amazon themselves. I love the Catch of the Day offers.

DealCatcher

Their website is more confusing than Slickdeals but generally has more options available. If you’re looking for a particular type of product, you might have more luck finding it on here.

Some of their coupons and deals are impressive. Not only that, but they list their newest stores so you can find products before everyone else does.

Get started with DealCatcher: www.dealcatcher.com

14. Honey App

Right, so while the Honey App isn’t solely just a site per se, it is the most well-known deal and voucher website known. You can use it as a normal website, or install the app on Firefox, Safari, Chrome and even your smartphone.

Honey App

One thing that impresses me is the thousands of retailers available on their marketplace. From Adidas to Expedia, you’ll not need any of these sites listed above. Unfortunately it’s lacking the community aspect, but makes up with the volume of deals.

You’ll always get the best price possible on Amazon as well since the Honey App compares all the sellers so you get the lowest possible price. If you’re a Prime member, this just made your membership even one more worth it!

You can install the app here: www.gethoney.com

15. Black Friday

You might think that Black Friday only is for one day of the year. Well, you would be wrong! This website still lists some of the best discounts year-round.

BlackFriday

That said, this is really catered to garner a lot of traffic on that magical eCommerce day when sellers literally have a field day! Not only that, but shoppers get some epic bargains too.

They list some really cool statistics if you’re an Amazon seller like myself, but not only that, some of the best (and worse!) products to be on the lookout for. I highly recommend that you check this website out.

Learn more with BlackFriday: www.blackfriday.com

16. Giving Assistant

Here is another shopping and coupon site where you can make a difference. When using Giving Assistant, you’ll be able to help raise vital funds for 1.7 million nonprofits worldwide.

Giving Assistant

Some of the world’s most popular brands such as Nike are featured on Giving Assistant. So not only will you save some cash, you’ll also be supporting a good cause through snagging those coupons and discounts.

I really do praise these guys, as someone who also donates regularly to good causes. You’ll find some of the best brands partnered right here, with many repeat visitors on their website. Their shoppers equal roughly 3 million per month, with close to 6 million raise at this time of writing.

Find out more here: www.givingassistant.org

17. Savings.com

Perhaps one of the internet’s oldest and most well known coupon sites, Savings dot com has a massive volume of discounts on offer.

Savings.com

I’m quite impressed! From The Home Depot to Samsung, you’ll find a wide array of products that suit your budget and needs, both at home or in the workplace.

I also found some great savings with Europcar for an upcoming business trip for my online business. Certainly you’ll find something with their vast amount of retailers.

Check them out here: www.savings.com

18. CouponChief

Now I’ve left one of the best deal sites to last – CouponChief! This is a great alternative to SlickDeals, with 150,000 offers available right now.

CouponChief

They claim with their coupon directly, to save their users an average $21 on each purchase. Unlike many sites which are Amazon-centric, there is a vast variety of deals on offer here.

Also listed is the most popular offers, plus you can hunt within their many categories. This is organized almost identically to Amazon’s own marketplace.

Get started right now: www.couponchief.com

Slickdeals is still great

Now, I don’t want to create this illusion that SlickDeals isn’t worthy. They are still a great website when shopping online, but there are numerous alternate options available.

There are millions of people using their website each year to get discounts and bargains on their online purchases. Not only that, but Amazon sellers can use their service (plus many more listed above) to launch a product successfully to the masses.

If building an Amazon business is something you’re open to, then you’re welcome to read the excellent guides that I’ve previously written. The feedback I’ve received has been impressive!

Also – if I’ve missed any deal websites, then please let me know in the comments below. I’m always happy to update this as the weeks and months go on.

Terri Scheer Review: I Quit Property Investing For The Laptop Lifestyle

Many of Australia’s property investors need landlord insurance, so it’s worthwhile to read my review of Terri Scheer. This way you can evaluate options.

Since you want to protect your real estate portfolio. From tenant damage to loss of rental income and contents coverage, insurance providers can really help you out.

It’s stressful to hold an investment property. Plus, often the rent isn’t covering the mortgage. But luckily Terri Scheer can help out, as they’ve helped me out too.

Not too long ago I was looking for a creative way that I could make a greater return on my investment online. No whizzbang strategies like Forex or Bitcoin, but something way better than property investing. I searched far and wide, and I found something.

But more on that later. Let’s evaluate Australia’s most well known insurance provider for landlords.

Terri Scheer Evaluated

Tenants are risky. You can be hit with all sorts of issues.

They can default on rent, fail to leave or stop you accessing your investment.

In the past, I was hit with all sorts of issues. I found the market conditions could change, with reduced rental amounts too.

Considering that property investing only returns 5%, it’s a lot to go through for so little. Let’s not forget the home and contents insurance that you need, forming part of your mortgage requirements.

Terri Scheer Insurance Review

Luckily, Terri Scheer does provide a solution. But are they a good solution? Reading the online reviews of Terri Scheer makes me question them.

They do seem to be the best in Australia though. Quite often, people who have great experiences don’t say anything. Then you’ve got those who have had a bad experience and whinge online.

So perhaps those reviews are skewed. Or maybe they’re real. Either way, you work so hard and purchasing an investment property is a honourable thing to do. I’m continuing to build my portfolio too.

Protecting all your hard work as a landlord makes sense. You just never know with tenants, since they can really be hit or miss. Insurance really does make you sleep better at night.

What makes me sleep better is knowing that I’ve found a better opportunity elsewhere. Something where I’ve been able to raise my monthly income, so I can acquire more investment properties. An opportunity that’s open to Australians right now.

Building your online income

I’m an advocate of building more income on the internet. Even just something small on the side. Something that helps the bank approve the next finance application, so you can continue building the property portfolio.

If you have a few spare hours each week, and are interested in a side project, this could be exactly what you need. With an open mind. Something new, fresh and exciting!

Over the years, I’ve tried just about anything there is. Sure, many things do work. But there is one thing that has worked better than anything.

That one thing is building an online business. Not just any type of business, but one that’s real. Through selling on the world’s #1 marketplace – Amazon.

Becoming an Amazon seller changed my life. So much so, that I’ve raised my monthly income to help acquire more investment properties for retirement.

Because often, we just run out of cashflow as a landlord. The bank rejects an application as they can see it’s going to be a stretch for your monthly budget. An online business can fix that.

An opportunity that’s OPEN

It gets better – I found someone. A mentor. Someone who has taught thousands of people with his FREE training series. Real Australians have opened their eyes to this potential, including some Terri Scheer customers.

Inside there are many students who are also property investors. They had the same issue you did – running out of monthly cashflow. Buying the next investment property became hard. Thanks to Amazon – this can help make that next purchase.

Free online training course
Press Play for a FREE Training Webinar

Plus – the reviews on this training series are highly positive. This is because people love it! Finally – a way to generate a reliable online income stream in part time hours. I personally found 30% returns through selling on Amazon, which outperforms just about anything else.

The best part is that you can finally get the freedom you were seeking. To travel and work anywhere in the world. Not having to come back so that you can get back to work. Because an online business opens so many doors of possibility.

In summary

Terri Scheer seems to be a good insurance company. After all, they’ve been in the business for 25+ years. Their online reviews have taken a hit due to some websites, but you’re only looking at a small scope of their audience.

Many people are more than happy with this training. I’ve been in contact with some friends who have used their services too. Because in this community of online business owners, it’s made up of 70% property investors.

We’re all seeking the early retirement. After all, we deserve it. Through earning 30% returns online, I’ve opened the door towards purchasing more investment properties.

It’s not just me, but thousands of us. Students in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. In fact – all across Australia and New Zealand.

We started with free training. To open our eyes to the potential of selling on Amazon’s vast marketplace.

I look forward to seeing you on the inside. 😃

OBL Fuel Review: 3 Reasons To Say No (It’s Fake)

Looking to research OBL super fuel? Excellent! It’s great to know if this is the real deal, or just another scam. Oro Blanco Fuel is certainly trending.

This review is based on my own understandings. Plus, I’ll be sharing 3 reasons why I’m skeptical. If you haven’t been here before, then welcome!

There are plenty of resources available here for free. Resources that can help you build a rock-solid online business, as I have, more than once.

What is OBL fuel?

This is a ‘crystal’ fuel that could replace gasoline. Note that I said could, and might not. At least, not for a long time. There are claims that it is significantly more energy efficient than gasoline, but such claims, I believe, are exaggerated.

Obl fuel review

It is found in the Andrew Mountains and is a real Tesla destroyer. That is, if it is actually commercially viable, which it might not be. There appears to be some investors attempting to jump in on the ground floor, and I’ll explain now why I’ll certainly hold off.

It’s unproven

This discovery has just been found. Very little scientific data has been provided as to its effectiveness. Can it really mesh well with modern cars?

It’s too early

Pioneers often don’t get the cheese – they get shot in the back. I wasn’t the first person in the world to start selling on Amazon. There was well over a million sellers before I launched my first product. I’ll catch trends with other surfers, not paddle out too early where sharks might be about.

There are better investments

My #1 investment is your self-education. It provides the best return on investment. It has for me, and it has for millions of others. My choice in education has led me to creating an epic lifestyle.

OBL Super Fuel Summary

At this time, there just isn’t enough information about OBL Fuel to make a super conclusive decision. I certainly wouldn’t touch it, but I do look forward to seeing it evolve. The sooner we can get off fossil fuels, the better.

This review is a work in progress, and I will update this as time goes on.

Ordering Samples from China: A Guide for First Time Amazon Sellers

This guide covers the ordering of samples for new Amazon sellers looking to source their product sample from China. You’ll learn how to order from factories and evaluate your sample. This is ideally so you can start mass-production to eventually sell on Amazon’s marketplace.

I sell on Amazon FBA, and now earn a full time income. Yes – it’s totally possible. Most courses have hype, some keep it more low key. I keep things raw and real. Creating an online business, even on Amazon, isn’t easy. But in the long run – it’s worth it.

Drilling down on the niche

When looking for samples to order from China, you need to 1st decide on a category. You want to then go into a niche. It can be any type of product, provided that it’s something you’re confident about selling, and you believe that customers will love it.

It’s important to do the numbers, as you want to find a long-term profitable product to sell on Amazon.

For this example, I’m going to use dog prams. I like this type of product, as there’s some complexity and the price-point is medium tier, reducing the competition. Plus, I love dogs! There’s a lot of competition in the lower priced products. There’s still competition for this mid-priced product too, yet it is paired with a lot of buyer traffic.

Finding a supplier for Amazon FBA

Once you’ve discovered the product, looked at the numbers, and researched your competition, it’s then time to look for a supplier. I like to look at a range of suppliers. You can find them quite easily on a number of websites.

Other sourcing sites to consider include:

  • Alibaba (no surprises there!)
  • Made-In-China
  • China brands
  • LightInTheBox
  • DHGate (for drop-shipping mostly)

There’s also a range of other websites, including those if you wish to source outside of China. As I don’t source in India or Indonesia yet, I can’t provide a reference. But Google will come up with some excellent results I’m sure!

There’s also Trade Fairs. Previously, I claimed on some of my blog posts here that you can source online without ever visiting China. I still believe that! Yet, going to China really does save a whole heap of time and messing around. The prices for flights and accommodation is cheap too.

There’s a range of Trade Fairs catering to all types of products, with the Canton Fair being China’s biggest. It also holds the title of the world’s largest Trade Fair. This place is HUGE!

Other fairs to consider include:

  • Yiwu Commodities Fair
  • East China Export Import Fair
  • Global Sources Hong Kong Fair
  • ASD MarketWeek (Las Vegas, USA)

There’s many more fairs, and an excellent site I’ve found is 10Times which features some of the best Chinese sourcing fairs available. In 2019 I’ll be attending up to 5 different fairs, including the famous Canton Fair.

Obtaining pricing information for your product

Once you’ve found the supplier, it’s time to get a price on at least 500 units. Preferably 1,000. In the case of dog prams, given their relatively big size (even when bubble-wrapped in a box), you do have some negotiation towards reduced minimum order quantities (MOQs) as 500 dog prams may not fit in a shipping container. If you’re ordering dog whistles, given the significantly small size, consider an order of 2,000+ as a minimum.

Finding a supplier at the right price-point and quality is an art in itself!

The reason you want pricing information before you order the sample is simple. You want to know that there’s profit margin, before going forwards. There’s no point receiving my dog pram sample, then finding the unit cost for each pram is $80 out of China, when I’m only able to sell them on Amazon for $99. The shipping to Amazon, and Amazon’s own fees will eat into that profit margin instantly.

Ordering the sample from China

Once you’ve decided on a product, and the number’s look good based on the manufacturers pricing and the eventual Amazon sales price, then it’s time to order the single unit sample. This sample will 99% of the time be air-freighted to you, simple to save time.

That said, there’s exceptions to that rule. For example – if you’re ordering say a large gym system, in which case you’d want to go to a health and fitness equipment fair in China for this. There’s a few of these that happen ever year, including Phase 3 of the Canton Fair. Also, some products can’t go on air freight.

The Chinese factories and source agents have good English, and will help in ordering samples!

There are 2 costs that will be rolled into 1 fixed cost.

  1. The cost of the sample (example: $10)
  2. The cost to ship the sample to you (example: $85)

So if a supplier quotes you $95 for the sample, it’s these 2 costs rolled into the $95. Please note that 99.9% of the time, they quote in USD. If you’re in Australia like I am, the price would be between $130 and $150 AUD.

I’ve personally ordered samples in the $70 to $200 AUD range, and I know others that have stretched up to $500. Samples aren’t cheap, and selling on Amazon isn’t a business for cheap people. If you’re scared to invest in samples, you have no chance on Amazon. You should probably stop reading this guide on ordering potential Amazon products from factories in China, if you’re too cheap to pay the sample costs.

Waiting for the Amazon sample from China

The sample will generally take 5 to 7 business days to arrive. Sometimes when entering Australia, they’ll roll on to Australia Post’s distribution system. Other times they’ll jump on to couriers, such as Fastway. If you’re in other countries such as NZ, Canada and the US, they’ll likely roll on to your national postal network.

If you have an account with a freight company such as UPS, which I do, then you’ll at least know which carrier will deliver it. You can then set specific delivery instructions. UPS has had the fastest delivery time for me, generally within 3 business days door to door. Yes, that fast!

Receiving an inspecting the sample

This is where the magical day has arrived. Where you’ll be beaming with joy. Where unicorns fly gracefully down the street, and there’s a rainbow on the horizon….

The moment the courier knocks on your door with the sample is MAGICAL!

….your sample has arrived!

You open your sample, and anything can happen…..

Either you’ve got exactly what you ordered, or there’s something wrong. Something that you completely missed, or the supplier completely messed up on. Either way, the sample is here, and you need to inspect it.

First up – look for quality. Is it of high quality. Would you personally buy it? Would your friends buy it? No, I don’t mean in a fantasy world. The unicorns aren’t welcome here….

What I mean is – would you be proud of this? We need to totally leave the emotion out of the picture here. Evaluating a sample is serious business. In my example, the dog pram could be completely piss-poor, or a work of art. Go road testing with the product, and put it through its paces.

You need to scope the following things:

  • Materials used
  • The quality of workmanship
  • Defects, or potential future defects
  • The packaging used, and if it needs more
  • Potential colour or design changes required
  • The likelihood of that product being expanded to a range
  • Whether the manufacturer really cared about the quality

From here, you’ve got 4 completely different roads in which to do down….

  1. You’re very happy with the sample. You then contact the factory agent, and tell them the great news – you’re ready to place an order! You use the sample as a basis for drafting the purchasing agreements, including all required specifications. Happy days!
  2. You’re not happy with the product. It’s probably a minor change, or something that was lost in communication. It’s okay, as you know that the factory and the person you’re communicating with is just trying to do good. They’re genuinely wanting to help you, so that you can go down road #1 eventually.
  3. This sample completely wasn’t what you were expecting. You decide this manufacturer isn’t for you, and perhaps even the niche isn’t for you. You go looking for a new supplier, or even a completely new niche.
  4. Even though you receive the sample, you give up completely on the Amazon dream. This happens often, for some completely strange reason. Maybe it’s due to a lack of knowledge. Perhaps you’re too cheap to invest in a proper Amazon course. Perhaps you don’t know what to do next, which is what every course teaches.

Either way, to get towards full production on a product, you need to start with samples. You need to gauge the quality and potential of a factory. You want to look into their willingness to help you start, and maintain a long term working relationship.

The euphoria of finding a great Chinese factory! You’re work isn’t over yet though…

I’ll cover the contracts and production of an Amazon product in another blog post. This one was focused on ordering samples from China for evaluation purposes.

Summary

I hope this guide to help beginners source and order samples from China for Amazon has helped open your eyes. If you’re looking to create a real business, and become a life-long Amazon or eCommerce seller, then you need to invest in your knowledge. I highly recommend taking an Amazon course, of which there’s some excellent offers in the marketplace, created by actual Amazon sellers.

Selling on Amazon isn’t for cheap people. Learning by error really does cost you money. The small investment in these courses are going to help avoid those mistakes, especially when you’re new. You simply can’t learn within Facebook groups, as most groups are full of newbies who lack basic marketplace understanding.

Amazon courses always praise the new students…the smart ones who invest in their knowledge!

Because this journey isn’t easy, and you don’t have to do it yourself. I didn’t go solo, as I was prepared to use mentors who have been before me on the journey. Today, I’m simply blown away by the support that such courses give to new students.

I’ve written a comprehensive list of the current available Amazon courses in the market. You can check them out right here, they’re ranked in order of quality. I genuinely care that you get the right knowledge.

Invest in yourself my friend, it’s the best investment you’ll ever make. Be prepared to back yourself, and play the long game.
