My journey: Today I work from home

You’re probably seeking something new and exciting. Where you can make the 10-step ‘commute’ to the office each morning, with no more traffic into the Brisbane CBD.

I get it – working from home has so many benefits, not just the flexible hours.

I found a statistic just yesterday from the ABS that shows more than 3 million Australians working from home. That’s fantastic news! So I’m not alone, after all. 😁

But actually, there are times that I do feel alone. The 99% of my communication is done through emails, so there are days where one can feel totally lonely. It can be also be tougher with distractions, especially. if you have children or pets at home.

Then again, I couldn’t trade this lifestyle. Saying goodbye to the boss for the very last time was the best feeling in the world. No more alarm clocks or set schedules. Just me and the laptop, starting and finishing whenever I desire.

So luckily, I did find an opportunity just like you’re seeking right now. I wanted something that I could do in spare hours, which could eventually replace my existing job. Plus, most importantly, I wanted to connect with other people, especially those in Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

I worked and worked. It took some sacrifices, researching, capital, and most importantly, consistent action. And…obviously….I was successful at this pursuit.

But not just me…but dozens of others too. We were very motivated to discover real freedom. That’s the power of community; the type who cares about your success.

So there are many ways to make money from home in Brisbane nowadays. In fact, working from home ‘lists’ are so long, that it’s hard to decide exactly what a beginner could do.

You end up more confused then when you started. On the other hand, I keep things simple around here.

Let’s have a quick look at the best work from home jobs in Brisbane:

• Apply for data entry jobs for Brisbane-based businesses.
• Manage social media accounts and emails for numerous clients
• Even consider using fast job freelancing websites such as Airtasker

These are all beginner-friendly. You can get started pretty easily and quickly too.

Now, exactly what do I do? Well, several things actually. I’m mostly in eCommerce and dynamic content creation. Some are easier to learn than others.

I predominantly sell on Amazon. I work to source products and Amazon ships to their customers on my behalf. It’s given me time-freedom like no other. Plus, I love to travel and didn’t want endless phone calls. I was looking for real freedom and I found it!

Now, this happens to be my #1 recommendation in 2019. After all, I’ve also discovered Australia’s best training community based right here in Queensland. Real people are getting real results.

Because I know what you’re after. That is long term freedom. Where you can choose when and where you work (or if you even work at all…)

At the same time, a job just isn’t for me. Nor is any other type of concept, including eBay or Shopify.

Amazon, for me, represents an incredible opportunity.

• You don’t have to stock products at home
• You won’t need to involve friends or family
• Plus, most importantly, Amazon brings you customers

So a lot of the heavy lifting has been done for you. It’s simply a matter of sourcing products for Amazon which can easily be done from home. China is so close to Brisbane, and I often fly there and back in a weekend to source products.

Technically, I’m not always working from home then. 😅 But you get the drift…

Amazon has really revolutionized and made it easier for beginners to sell direct to consumers, without the previous challenges we’ve faced currently. In fact, I’ve forgotten what the inside of what Australia Post looks like. China sends my products direct Amazon.

This is an absolute game-changer, especially for those serious. You will need capital and you will need time, plus the motivation and enthusiasm to build your own online business.

For me, I posses those qualities. That’s why Amazon is my game.

Product bundling is a good strategy for Amazon FBA, especially for beginners. This allows you to take several off-the-shelf products to launch together.

There are some real advantages here. Most importantly, you can launch sooner and without too many issues.

I’m an advocate of making your first $1 as soon as you can. This helps you build up that confidence to launch more challenging products.

Product bundling on Amazon FBA is ideal for beginners

You can get started with less technical issues that arise from product development.

You’ll be sourcing several products and placing them in the same box. Customers are then receiving more value-for-money than if said products were purchased separately.

But how do you bundle?

Let’s examine how you can do exactly that.

Evaluate your competitors

The first step is to gauge what your competitors are doing.

Perhaps none or very few are bundling. Perhaps they’ve missed this opportunity, or perhaps there is a key reason why they are not bundling Amazon products together to generate sales.

Reach out to factories

The second step is to reach out to factories. You’ll find that most are willing to product bundle if you can explain your end-goal.

Consider that your packaging may have to be altered. This will add to your cost, but only slightly. Keep the chit-chat with factories in basic fashion and don’t use complex English.

Place your sample order

Our 3rd step is to place the sample order. You’ll have to coordinate with 2 or more factories. I like to nominate my ‘mother’ factory then have the other factories feeding to this mother factory.

You can actually ask the mother factory to make purchases on your behalf. They can likely get you better locals-only pricing. Perhaps they’ll make a small profit, but it’s a really a win-win for the both of you!

Making your first purchase order

This is when it gets real. When you’ve evaluated the sample and the products within it, and it’s time to place that first order.

Again, organize your mother factory. There is going to be some coordination that needs to happen here, for everything to run smoothly. You’ll be doing more work than the average Amazon seller, but you’re the only one with this product bundle!

Evaluate sales results

When you’re live and selling, then it’s time to evaluate the results of your product bundling on Amazon FBA. Did it work? What was your sales velocity? Were the reviews from customers 4 or 5 stars?

Only from this, can you make an accurate decision whether you should place another order, or jump into another type of product bundle. If it hasn’t worked, then it’s not a wasted opportunity. It’s a learning experience! You would’ve learned plenty in that journey.

In closing

Product bundling is a great way to start selling on Amazon FBA. I get questions about this all the time, and I would say go for it if the numbers stack up.

Making that first sale is a fantastic feeling. It makes this business opportunity real. That moment when you realize that someone, half way across the world, just bought YOUR product. Product bundling, therefore, can set yourself apart from the competition.

When Amazon coaching works

There are times when I think a coach is highly recommended:

• When you’re a complete newbie to this ‘make money online’ gold rush
• If you need someone to speak with, as opposed to email contact with me
• You want the assurance that there is somebody to call at every roadblock
• You’re nervous and this journey feels daunting, foreign and frustrating

Someone on the phone as your Amazon personal coach can really help you through those tough times. And you will have tough times! Don’t believe the gurus who think this is all sunshine and rainbows.

When Amazon coaching isn’t needed

Then again, some people like myself don’t require any support for these reasons:

• You’re resourceful to figure out things and power through on your own
• This isn’t new to you. You’ve done some some similar things online before
• You’ve invested into high quality courses, where all the real knowledge is
• You feel like you can get your questions answered just as fast in FB groups

Most people who find success on Amazon fall into this bucket. They’re resourceful and confident to do what’s needed, without needing a regular phone calls and support.

Deciding if you need it

If you haven’t been able to discern whether you’ll need it, then I’ll make this one as simple as possible.

Complete beginners should invest in an Amazon course that comes with coaching. I simply cannot provide enough email assistance to those who need help every 5 minutes, as I currently serve a readership of 25,000 people monthly.

Of course, let’s not forget my own 2 Amazon businesses that require love, attention and growth! See: I make my full-time income on Amazon and a very small amount earned through courses. I don’t even offer phone coaching, as my Amazon businesses are serving me very well!

Those who have past business experience and are resourceful can do without coaching but may still wish to consider a course with coaching. There are numerous high-quality courses without coaching, but do come with very resourceful Facebook groups that are treasure-troves of information.

So if you’ve never done anything like this before, then consider a course that comes with coaching. Sophie Howard would be my pick. The course is also very extensive, plus student conference and webinars also included.

Some elements of this course, particularly its marketing approach, does need to improve. But it’s still well suited to the beginner.

Personal coaching is just aspect

Deciding on a course with coaching, or a course without coaching, is just one step in the big journey. There is a lot involved here. Amazon is a jungle and can be complicated at times, with many steps and hoops to jump through before finally going live with your 1st product.

So don’t get too hung up on this. If you’ve never made a single dollar on the internet before, then please do yourself a favor and get some one-on-one support and assistance. It’s an investment, not an expense.

Finally, this journey isn’t for the faint-hearted. There are some challenges that you’ll face along the way, including the risk of losing every single dollar. I hope you have the courage to work through the tough times, with or without a personal coach for your Amazon journey.
