Barefoot Writer Review: Thoughts on Paul Hollingshead’s Membership

I am already a well-paid writer and felt this needed a solid review of Paul Hollingshead and his the Barefoot Writer ‘get paid to write’ program.

Unlike beginners, I’m not starting from zero to review this program. I already have several clients. Because of that, I’m able to see what’s in this program and what might be missing. I’m simply more transparent that way, unlike other writers.

My background

I prefer to sell on Amazon, with two businesses earning a healthy income. This is where I started.

That said, freelancing as a writer is one of the best ways to earn an online income if you’re starting from nothing. This is because your expenses are really minimal.

This blog of mine I run as a hobby with some commercial interest. I like to audit services and programs to check if things like Barefoot Writer could be a scam or a legitimate training program. Due to my writing here, I’ve generated a small handful of well-paying clients.

Examining the Barefoot Writer

This is a good membership site created by Paul Hollingshead. With almost 2 decades of experience, he is not only a well-paid writer but also built a reputation as reliable online teacher. After all, the company is affiliated with the American Writers Association Inc.

Fact: I can confirm that this is a real and legit training program. Barefoot Writer is real education by an individual who has found success in his online writing career.

Barefoot Writer Review
Writing for a living can be a good career, but it’s also a grind

There are some good advantages here:

  • It’s very affordable at just $49/month for Barefoot Writer membership
  • There is a private hangout space where all the members collaborate
  • You can potentially get paid to write content for the club themselves
  • There are some really positive reviews online of Paul Hollingshead

Then again, some disadvantages too:

  • There are some up-sells along the way, in order to open the full treasure chest
  • Exaggerated income claims with writing as an income pitched as huge money
  • Everything can be found for free through YouTube, like Amazon FBA courses

I figure that they do have an excellent membership club. Unlike YouTube which has very scattered content, Paul has put into order the entire encyclopedia. Literally everything that you need.

I mean, for $49/month or $108/year, it represents very good value. Especially if you’re just a beginner who’s learning. We all had to start somewhere and Barefoot Writer could be your ticket to freedom.

An excellent alternative

I do feel that what is offered by the Barefoot Writer is not a scam. It’s real education for everyday people who want to become writers.

But then there are the downsides to writing, that up until now, I haven’t mentioned. I have several clients and I could easily scale to a 6 figure income with just 12 clients.

Writing is a grind. Ever heard of ‘writers block’? Happens everyday to me.

This writing gig is often not fun. Clients are critiquing your work. Sometimes it’s a tennis match backwards and forwards. You could do 2,000 words and not be paid at all. Expect to spend days in front of your computer talking to literally no one.

I prefer the fun, freedom and excitement of selling real things on the internet. Through my own Amazon businesses, I reach people across the world.

Just like everyone else, I started with no knowledge. I just had an open mind and wanted to learn. There are plenty of mentors and people willing to help. But if you’re aged 40 and above, then I’ve found the perfect mentor.

She’s built several Amazon businesses. Further more, she’s become a highly paid consultant. At one stage, she was earning $6,000/month looking after 4 clients who had existing products they sought to sell on Amazon.

That, to me, is a lot more fun than writing for clients all day long. Wouldn’t you agree?

Her name is Sophie Howard. She’s hard at work helping thousands of people around the world just like you. If you’re looking for a real Amazon teacher, then this is one of my best recommendations.

It gets better – you can actually start the journey today. Her book is almost free and is available now on this page. Grab a copy and discover how you might be able to get a piece of the Amazon pie, as I have.

In closing

Paul has created a great training course for writers. Much of the content can be found on YouTube, but paying for the membership is a good way to go through course content in order, without missing key aspects. After all, Paul is giving the full recipe, not fragments.

But writing is also a tough gig. You’re hearing this from the man himself – the guy who blogs daily! Think I’m BSing you? At this time of writing, I have 450 posts on my blog alone. You can go and check. My biggest site has 2,000+ posts and the runners up have 1,000 and 1,400 respectively. Plus client work.

You really have to be the right person for this game. If you’re the creative type, then consider selling on Amazon, as I have. Or both!

This online selling opportunity changed my life, and it can change yours too. I sell on Amazon and I also write for clients. Guess which one is my favorite?

Yep. Selling on Amazon is a lot more fun. It brought me freedom, and it can bring you freedom too.
