This is my FULL Reliable Education review. I am a student of Adam Hudson, and my entire Amazon journey is detailed here, from beginner student to Amazon seller. There are also some excellent FREE bonuses available right now below which will be of value to you.
Reliable Education review
So you’re looking at Adam Hudson’s Reliable Education program.
I purchased this program in October 2015. Since then the community has risen to 10,000+ students.
Back then it was just a few of us in this Facebook group.
Created by some dude with ridiculously shiny teeth.
(Sorry Adam, but they’re a bit too white in there…)
I didn’t know Adam personally, but I knew this Amazon business model was real.
I bought the course and was seriously keen to get started just like you.
Yep – my own dollars to invest into my education. No free rides.
Because I’m on a 10,000 mile journey.
Not a “Let’s all get rich quick in 5 minutes” type of journey.
I’ve seen that shit before, and it does my head in.
I mean – you’d have better luck with a lottery ticket.
Than to think those sort of opportunities actually exist.
But with Adam, this was something different.
I saw something that was real and tangible.
And he didn’t want to BS me either.
He says business isn’t that easy. That building a business takes time.
He even says it will be challenging and take some big dollars.
Finally – someone who actually speaks the truth.
That’s why I liked about Adam. That truth element.
It didn’t take me much convincing. 5 minutes and I was in.
I knew Amazon was very much on-trend. A genuine opportunity.
One that has tens of thousands of people banking some coin.
So I got started with a mission to build an income.
How did I go? Well, let’s take a journey together.
Some background on me
For 10 years I’ve been on this greater journey and have done a lot figuring things out.
I’ve also invested $40,000 on courses, seminars and conferences since 2009. I’ve taken action with all of them.
I’m no financial planner (Hello ASIC!) and my opinion is based on being a Reliable Education student. This review has zero input from the Reliable team.
My blog has been a passion project for many years. Just like you, I’ve always had an open mind to new opportunities.
My reviews come with sincere honesty
You’ve probably searched for Reliable Education review or similar on Google and I’ve popped up.
I’ve taken the time to write this because I wish to share my results and there’s plenty of people who would love to hear about my experience as an Australian student.
It’s best to find 10 minutes of uninterrupted time to be reading this from start to finish, plus another 15 minutes to read the many comments.
While I’m a student who has now created an Amazon business, I also run this blog as a hobby in addition to an existing unrelated business and have a young family. My lifestyle is one of limited time and I apologize in advance for any grammar or spelling errors.
I’m no stranger to reviewing products and services online, and will be happy to tell things as they are. Here’s a review of a piss-poor Sydney based training company which through the power of my blog, ultimately shut its doors.
And in this review of a well known seminar company, I encourage attendees to be highly cautious when attending. So what is my honest opinion of Adam and Reliable Education? Well, let’s get into it.
Reliable Education: The review of the course
The RE course (some call it the Academy) features seriously a lot of content.
I’ve done other Amazon courses since joining Reliable Education (by personal choice) and Adam’s content is still superior.
I invest in other courses because I do like to get perspectives of other successful Amazon sellers. I’m paired with the financial means to do so since now having my own Amazon business.
Now the course is only 30% of the program.
The other 70% is made up of other aspects.
The live events, networking, charity trips and coaching.
Then there is the community. Oh man…THE community!
(I could talk all day about how epic these people are) ✌️
Like, I’ve made dozens of awesome friends. The type of people you’d want to hang out with that lift you up. You’ll enjoy that experience once too you’re in.
But the course is the core element – the initial education.
World-class education to build an Amazon business.
Ideally suited for the motivated individual.
The type that’s actually committed to actually do it.
You know – learn AND apply….not just binge-learn.
So let’s open up the inside.
Inside the course
When you join, here is what you’ll see on the inside:
Following this introduction video, there are the core course contents.
In addition, there is the Resources and Inspiration section.
The Reliable Education Amazon course teaches the following topics:
- Effective business planning (based on Adam’s real experience)
- Finding great products through numerous ways (Not just Alibaba)
- Creating epic packaging that creates life-long customers
- Dealing with Chinese suppliers and the language barrier
- Calculating profit margins accurately, and not just sales
- Safeguarding yourself against Chinese supplier scams
- How to sell on Amazon Australia (But trust me, start in USA!)
- Creating a winning product that sells for years to come
- How to protect your intellectual property from knock-offs
- Building an Amazon business the right way that can be sold for a 7 figure amount in the future (this part I loved the most)
The old vs new Reliable Education training
Adam got some flack for the old course. Yep, it was outdated in some parts plus it was mostly shot with home-style videos.
Look – I liked it and so did many others, but not everyone was impressed.
In case you’re wondering, this is what it originally looked like:
Today it’s a lot different. It’s actually world-class with a vastly improved user experience:
That’s like going from Windows to Mac.
Or in other words, from 1996 to 2020 in one hit.
Adam’s going from living-room-style videos (which were still great actually) to a professional studio setting with superior sound quality. Super winning!
Let’s unpack the content because you want to see what you’re actually getting.
Module 1: The beginning of your journey
The 1st module is an introduction into the world of Amazon, but more importantly, lessons on success. In fact, Adam spends the bulk of the time focused on setting yourself up for success.
There are 31 video lessons here and it took me a few hours to go through.
Across these lessons, you’ll notice that Adam’s vast business experience really shines through. Yes, you’re not jumping into Amazon training right away but don’t skip these vital lessons. They will get you through the tough times.
Module 2: Setting up your FBA business
Oh, here we go! The meat and potatoes of getting started with the Amazon business side of things, right there in Module 2.
Currently, there are 32 videos in this module. That’s a few hours of content.
I mean, we’re still on Module 2 now. There is another 6 modules to go, plus the bonus sections and mindmaps. Attending a Reliable Education Summit is another experience altogether.
Module 3: Product research
Lemme guess….you want to skip straight to Product Research. My suggestion: don’t skip ahead. You really need to prepare yourself with Modules 1 and 2.
With 22 videos, it is shorter but the average video length is longer. Expect to take several hours and lots of notes here. In fact, you’ll probably have to go through some of these videos a 2nd time as it can be quite analytical.
Module 4: Product Ideas
This is one of my favourite modules. I’ve found hundreds of great product ideas from this and even created a fantastic guide ‘101 Products to Sell on Amazon’ which is free. More on that later.
While Adam has been to the Canton Fair (as well as myself 3 times now), it’s Wayne Butcher that takes you along for the journey. This is great as Adam’s overly white teeth are starting to send some of his students blind by this stage. 😅
But really, it’s a good change of pace and the videography from these particular lessons are fantastic.
Wayne has a corporate background that resonates a lot with students given the high calibre of people on the inside.
By now we’re halfway through the course. Even once you’ve finished the course, you have the bonus content.
Still with me? I hope so!
Unlike the product ideas and research stage, this is a bit boring of a Module for most people. See – Shipping and logistics terminology put most people to sleep regardless of who presents it. You will need to know this content though and I was totally fine (my background is national logistics which obviously helps).
Wayne is back again! Now Amanda gives away a lot of great content here, but there is a slight upsell. It’s to her more advanced course with documentation.
Look – they don’t push it hard and represents good value (I also bought it) but honestly, I launched my 1st product without it. That documentation really helps my confidence in placing bulk orders nowadays.
Let’s keep pushing through. We’ve still got another few modules left.
Adam is big on design and branding. With now 30% of sellers on Amazon being Chinese, competition has increased. One thing that China isn’t well known for is innovation or customer experience, let alone their brand names or packaging.
This is a shorter module which is great because some of those prior modules are extensive. It’s fun and there are fantastic elements on building a product from scratch as I have.
There are some great guest speakers such as 99Designs which I have used several times now for logo design. Reliable Education and Adam have a huge focus on branding, especially where their own training exceeds expectations. RE in itself has become a brand.
If you’re curious, Adam Hudson sells homewares on Amazon which explains why he is all about creating packaging and branding. Your aim is to separate yourself from other Amazon sellers by having much more than just a brown cardboard box.
Argh! We’re back to boring shipping now and some technical terms. You’ll need to put your logical thinking cap on for this series. This module alone is why people can’t figure out Amazon on their own, because free advice out there is cheap and could send you down the wrong path.
Essentially as this is one part that you can’t afford to mess up with.
One thing to note is another guest speaker – V-trust.
In the old version of the academy, Adam was recommending KRT Inspection because he used them with no issues. That was odd as I already knew V-Trust is the market leader in global product inspections, so I just used them instead. It’s great to see them in the new version.
If you go to the Canton Fair (and you should!) then you’ll see these representatives on every corner. They’ll inspect your product in the factory (and take literally dozens of photos on your behalf) before it leaves China. Saves you a trip over there!
Right! The best part. When you finally get a product on Amazon and it starts selling. In these lessons, Adam, Keith and Greg go into the analytics of a successful product listing.
There are almost 40 videos here. Like, no stone unturned here! Quite clearly Adam’s mission is to get your product SELLING, not just for sale.
Again, a massive upgrade from the past version of the training program. His PPC training in the past was a bit ‘Meh…this is kinda average…’ in my experience but it finally has the deeper elements of setting up a PPC campaign.
We’re finished with the course (“finally” you say…). It’s a pretty in-depth training course after all.
There is a sense of angst once it’s done because now it’s time to actually do the work. This isn’t fairy dust…you need to IMPLEMENT.
But wait! There’s more. We forgot the bonus modules. 😜
Now, there are numerous bonus modules. They get a lot of praise actually, especially the Mindmaps. If you’re an analytical person who needs the step-by-step, then this is for you.
Likewise, there is a lot of other bonus video content but I’ve already spilled plenty of beans here. Here’s an overview of what you’ll get:
I don’t want to go inside and spoil the extras. Like a friend who doesn’t want to spoil the end of a great movie. 😄
You’ll have to get inside and see for yourself the hours of additional content.
Trust me, worth every dollar! As a parent, see 12-year old Sam’s talk on stage is my favourite.
Reliable Education: The review of the Summits
The great thing about the Summits is that they are for students only.
Just like the high course price, the tickets to these events aren’t cheap either.
(I mean, certainly nowhere near the price of the course, but at a price that maintains that high calibre nature).
That translates to, quite literally, keeping the riff-raff out. Even with the higher numbers, RE as a company strives to main that high standard.
The magic happens at the live Summits.
- Where you meet other students.
- The chance to form Masterminds in your local area.
- Where you can see the real success stories.
The Summits are what I really look forward to. Want to read some notes? I’ve taken plenty of them which you can read here to give you some insights.
They go for 3 days for up to 10 hours per day, going deep into content and strategies ideal for both beginner and intermediate Amazon sellers. Worth every dollar in my opinion with minimal upsells.
I’ve also met dozens of students personally at Summits who have joined Reliable Education through my referral link. Not only that, but also on Reliable Foundation team trip. Yep – I’ve done that too (Read my experiences here).
Quite clearly I’m a big part of the RE family.
Who takes the RE course?
I’ve met dozens of students in the academy, and have plenty more to meet. Many of those who have left comments at the bottom of this review are now students who I look forward to meeting. 👍 For you, the person reading this, I look forward to meeting you too!
Some occupations I have come across include:
- Those in the education space such as teachers, lecturers and tutors
- Employees in the corporate space, such as leadership, management and accounting
- Business owners, both online and traditional offline
- Tradies including builders, plumbers and electricians
- Those in logistics such as truck drivers and warehouse workers
- Employees in the retail, hospitality, events and tourism sector
- Parents. The vast majority of students are parents, working to create a better family lifestyle.
- Retirees and teenagers. Yes! There are dozens of these as students too.
Of course, that’s not an exhaustive list at all. And as you can see, it’s quite a broad group of people there.
Your current occupation, past education and experience aren’t really indicative of your ability to win on Amazon. It’s a mindset and cashflow management game more than anything.
What you need is a winning mentality
This course is designed for those who have a winning mindset and also can put in the work. If you understand that Reliable Education isn’t providing a get-rich-quick scheme and does require some capital, then this is for you.
For those busy with an existing business, career or family, this can be for you if you have some hours every week to allocate around your responsibilities.
If regularly complaining and holding a losing mentality is what defines you, then this course isn’t for you and you’re best off sticking to your current financial plan (or lack thereof 🙄).
For those who think you’ll do the course and then carry on in life doing nothing, then this course isn’t for you and please consider something else.
As I mentioned earlier, I’ll tell things as they are.
If you currently are or you’ve been in MLM before with understanding the challenges and want something easier, then this is for you. Equally so, if you hate those network marketing schemes that recommend selling to friends and family, then this is for you.
If you believe a 6 figure income online through creating a real business is possible in 2 to 5 years, then this is for you. I like to state conservative time frames. There are dozens of students who have reached success much sooner.
Where Reliable Education can improve
No course is perfect and each will have their own downsides and room for improvement. Simply sharing the good points about Adam’s course would not be cool unless I shared some bad points too. Well, I prefer to say room for improvement.
The 1st improvement
The course includes modules featuring veteran importer Amanda Clarkson and she is also a speaker at the conferences. Unfortunately, she and her husband Matt Clarkson previously taught eBay training courses & seminars.
Some people thought their courses weren’t so valuable. To see them in Reliable Education creates some frustration with a small group of students. I have no doubt that Matt and Amanda are great speakers, and I praise their Importing modules which are excellent.
The 2nd improvement
The second point I wish to raise is that the optional Platinum Partners program, which is a 5 figure investment after completing the course. It doesn’t quite offer that much value in my opinion, plus there are mixed reviews and some criticism within the community.
Trust me – you would do just fine without it as the Reliable Education course does give you EVERYTHING you need to sell on Amazon at the base level. This is something that I really praise as most training programs just tease you with information to get you to spend more. Not here.
The RE course is a one-time investment and does not hide information. But then if you wanted to hang out with the big sellers and do some more intensive training, then go right ahead. I would even join if I had a spare $50k in the bank account.
The Platinum Partners program is much less than $50k. Now, if I just had less than $15k like most people reading, keep that money to launch yourself on Amazon, and upgrade later down the track. That’s just my honest opinion.
A final improvement
My final point is that some people come in with unrealistic expectations. This is because they see the shiny lights and well-edited videos, not the headaches you have to go through as a business owner.
Look – the course doesn’t do the work for you. There’s no spoon-feeding and unfortunately no phone coaching apart from the welcome call, though the Facebook community is extremely helpful.
It’s just that some people jump in to do the course, expect RE to find them a winning product, and the money rolls in.
That isn’t going to happen. Please….that is NOT going to happen.
Some people expect
I honestly don’t believe you need mentoring or Platinum Partners, at least to get started and into a profitable position on Amazon. Most people pass on the offer, including some of Adam’s top students.
Today I’m still not a member of Platinum Partners, I was never mentored, and I’m doing just fine. I had no prior experience. The course and the Facebook community is your mentor.
Other courses out there promote “Look at us! We’ll mentor you personally!” but please really do ask them what that mentoring is. A course that includes just a 1-hour long chit-chat on the phone isn’t really mentoring.
And if someone else is promising to do all the work to find you a winning product to sell on Amazon, wouldn’t they just launch it themselves if it’s that good? Some food for thought…. 🤔
Like I said, I’ve done other courses. Adam’s set the standard here. He’s really looking for the self-motivated student, the person who’s willing to back themselves and get in the trenches. Just as thousands of his students are doing right now.
A word on pricing
Now I’ve done other courses since Reliable Education. Only because I choose to, and not because you need to.
One course is enough to cover all the bases. It’s just important that you choose the right one.
Because Reliable Education is high calibre. Its students are results-orientated achievers.
And doesn’t seek to have the riff-raff on board.
(You can click the X button now if that’s you, it’s cool…)
By taking other courses, I’ve seen what’s out there.
It’s quite evident that Adam’s built the best course.
But it’s not a cheap course, that’s for sure.
And you know what? Amazon isn’t a cheap business either.
I hate the other courses that say “Get started for $400!!!!”
Yeah, the biggest bowl of BS soup you’ll ever see.
In fact, there is a Shopify chick in Australia.
Maybe you’ve also seen her with Facebook ads.
Now I respect her because she has serious results.
That is several 6 figure Shopify stores. Very impressive!
She’s even been awarded by Shopify themselves.
But her ads say “I got started with $24!” Yeah….right.
That’s all it costs to register a domain name for 2 years.
You can’t even get a sample shipped for less than $70.
A real business on Amazon is going to take some serious coin.
We’re talking $5,000 USD minimum here. $10k is even better.
Adam’s students very often have this (and much more).
He didn’t build Reliable Education for cheap people.
And it’s quite evident that Amazon isn’t a cheap business.
Expect to keep pouring money in, month after month.
If you expect to see some results. This is my experience.
Adam’s pricing is set for motivated individuals and business owners.
Because if you’re in business, you’ll know everything is expensive.
The course price is often less than your bulk inventory costs.
Often less than your shipping costs (Up to $2,500 USD a container)
Even less than your trademarks and patent pricing ($4k thank you…)
I can’t stress this enough: THIS IS NOT A CHEAP BUSINESS.
But it is a real business. One that can literally change your life.
10,000 people have still found a way in.
If you’re struggling with the program cost, then you have two options.
- A) Decide if Amazon is the right vehicle (You can pass on this, and if you have limited capital, you should definitely pass on this.)
- B) Hustle and grind to get the money together (Like…work for it)
Most won’t like B, but that’s what it might take. In fact, that’s just what I had to do.
I dropped my living expenses a lot. I also sold on eBay for 18 months.
And for that period, I really didn’t have a life.
Instead of an expensive car, I drove a cheap one.
(And I still own it! 220,000km and counting! 😃)
Living the minimalist life really helps.
I got housemates to offset the cost of living.
When I flew to China, I’d just go economy.
I simply decided that I wanted to win. That this Amazon gig was right for me.
But of course, there are many that want the prize.
And they want it without making some initial sacrifices.
Especially in a world of instant gratification.
And if that’s you, then this journey might be a struggle.
So Adam made his course any cheaper, he might as well give it away.
Because you just won’t find this high level of quality education anywhere in Australia.
Why I like Reliable Education so much
There are many reasons why I love RE and happen to be a poster-child success story. Now, let’s look at my 7 core factors:
- The course content is now very professional. These aren’t home-style videos but run with a professional team in a studio-setting. Previously the course had some missed content and was a little outdated (was still 95% great), but the team has really pushed hard in mid-2019 to make this the world’s best Amazon course.
- Its students are go-getters. I’ve taken several Amazon courses and I’m involved with several other communities. Often there are those who are unlikely to even start or are just buying that fuzzy feeling on the inside. Instead, RE is a high-level program designed for those who really strive to build a business.
- Plenty of success stories. This ties in with the calibre of students. The community has a very high ratio of people that do ‘make it’ compared to other courses. Because if you’re spending several thousand dollars on a course, you’re pretty well serious about building a real Amazon business.
- Firm rules about negative people. There is a strong ‘no dickhead’ policy here. If you like to kick tyres, mess around or want to complain about something which adds no value, then this isn’t for you. There are plenty of cheap Amazon courses that might better serve you instead.
- The Facebook group is incredible. You can ask the right questions, search through to find existing questions and answers, plus see progress updates from other students just like you. Most importantly, celebrate the success stories that thousands of other students are sharing every single day.
- It’s a business course, not just Amazon. Since you’re not just selling a few products on Amazon, but are actually building a real online business. I personally love the content on building a real 6 or 7 figure business, through systems, processes and outsourcing with teams.
- Live events take it to a whole new level. Because this isn’t just a course, but a community that wants to help you succeed. The live events are a must-do event where people like Ita Buttrose and John Howard have spoken before, and a place you’ll connect with other students and form Masterminds.
There are more, but you get my drift. This is a rock-solid program that has changed my life.
If you feel that RE is right for you…
Fact: Reliable Education does have a very high calibre of students.
It’s typically those who not only have the hunger for success but also quite commonly the track record of prior success in business or other ventures. More importantly, they possess a compelling reason to create an online business via the Amazon FBA platform.
Over 50 students have chosen, after reading through this review, to use my referral link below since 2017. Some have started selling on Amazon already.
Most people by now are already almost ready to join the course as you may be, and if you have found great value in what I’ve offered, then please utilize my affiliate link here.
The cost of the course is the exact same regardless of you going direct or through myself. I’m cool with either option you choose.
I have recently decided to offer FREE email support plus 2 excellent bonuses to those who sign up through my referral link. Please keep reading to find out about those bonuses.
Adam has genuinely become very successful at Amazon FBA to the tune of 6 figures monthly.
He has dozens of students and friends in the 5 figure monthly range. I’ve met several in person and I’m well on the way myself. I look forward to sharing the stage with him at some point in the near future.
My progress with Adam Hudson’s course
Update July 2017: I went live on the 15th of June and have since then I’ve generated 7 organic sales with no reviews, under 1 million sales rank. I’ve generated milestones for the next 3 years and with another shipment on its way. Thanks, Adam and the team at Reliable! P.s. A few people have started reaching out to me via my blog, thanks for the connection! 🙂
Update August 2017: 40 sales and counting! Unfortunately, I hit a stumbling block – some products were somehow lost in transit and never arrived to Amazon FBA, I am in the process of trying to receive compensation. All business and investments come with a degree of risk, but I’m still taking steps forward. My largest ever shipment is dispatching on Monday.
Update December 2017: The proof is in the pudding!
Here’s a screenshot direct from my Amazon Seller Central App dated today the 18th of December. Click to enlarge. Just over $3,000 USD per month ($4,000+ AUD) at a 41% margin. I’ve found an excellent product and most students typically achieve margins in the 20% to 40% range. This is fantastic compared to property and shares. So in roughly 6 months since I had posted my first update, I have reached a solid part-time income. In 12 to 18 months I can see this turning into a full-time reliable (pun intended) stream of income. For now, though, I’ll happily keep my existing business to reinvest profits.
Update February 2018: Just crossed the $5,000 USD per month mark or around $6,300 AUD per month and margins are still strong. No real issues with inventory or freight, just trialling different prices and looking to add new products. I’m working on creating a new private label brand and product base in the coming months. Both screenshots look different as I upgraded from the iPhone 6 to the iPhone X in January (late Xmas gift to myself).
Update June 2018: Business is going strong, no real issues. With one product I am hovering in the $5,000 to $6,000 USD range with around 50% of that being profit.
Update December 2018: Business has really had no growth but no decline either, which is fine as I just have the 1 product, with another launching in March. I posted in December 2017 that in 12 to 18 months I would be full-time, which 12 months on (today) I’m almost there but not. Likely I’ll hit it by mid-year though! December was Rhino season at Reliable Education and I got addicted to the Facebook group seeing numerous everyday people enjoying their first $100k USD sales month’s on Amazon. No BS. A strong reason this happens is the massively increased Christmas spending in the US, hence ‘Rhino Season’ happens in December for Reliable Education students.
I didn’t see any difference in my sales as I don’t sell a product that you would gift to someone. These students would be doing $30k to $60k per month any other month, which still isn’t a bad result off a conservative 20% margin. How many investment properties would you need fully paid off to profit at $8k per month, or even $5k?! 🙂 (US Dollars by the way!)
Update February 2019: This review and my experiences with Adam Hudson’s course has grown over the years. It was the first Amazon course I ever did, but not the only course I did. Some of you have seen other Amazon courses, and so I’ve written a separate post comparing all the courses available in the marketplace.
You can find that here: www.workwithjoshua.com/a-complete-list-of-all-amazon-courses-available-in-2019/
Update March 2019: A sales update since I haven’t done one since December and some of you were begging. 🙂 Now I’m at the holy grail of $10,000/month AUD. Note: I also now sell on eBay, and certainly when I add that income into the mix, I’m slightly beyond a full-time income.
Now, I’m not a massive seller making $200,000 per month and driving a Ferrari. But these results are relatable and attainable for most people reading this, provided you understand there is some expenses and work involved here.
Note: I have now stopped showing income reports as it creates an expectation of “If Josh can do it, so can I” but I have pre-existing skills. I don’t want you to be reliant on an internet blogger and recommend that you do your own research and decide if this is right for you.
My journey with RE
What I have experienced in this journey
Nice fancy sales screenshot aside, I want to share with you what I’ve learned and experienced.
I started this journey in late October 2015.
I finally went live with my 1st product in early June 2017.
So we’re talking approximately 18 months here. The average student does this in 12 months.
I lacked the capital because it takes a lot, both starting and ongoing.
Remember – this ain’t a cheap business to start.
(But that reduces your competition a lot)
I hustled to make it happen because I wanted this.
In April 2018 I quit my job for the very last time.
It actually coincided with Reliable Education’s 3rd Summit.
So it was quite fitting to have this outcome.
But I actually loved my job. I could’ve stayed for years.
And this is what I recommend, to have a good job first.
Because you need a good solid foundation to build on.
It’s going to take a few years to quit your job after all.
Now my journey wasn’t easy. It wasn’t fast either.
It certainly wasn’t cheap either (Dare I say that again?)
I’ve since lost money 3 times on Amazon. “Oh shit” you say.
Yeah, 3 times I’ve been knocked down.
- Product samples that were totally shithouse ($500 totally wasted)
- A shipment that was delivered, but Amazon said it didn’t come ($3,000)
- Launching a product in a super competitive niche ($7,200)
Damn…$10,000+. Can you handle that? Losing $10,000….
Now truth be told, I’ve made a lot more than I’ve lost.
I’ve taken action consistently to make more good stuff happen.
But I’ve also poured in tens of thousands of dollars.
Trips to China. Trademarks and patents. More product launches.
And with 4 years into this 10,000-mile journey, I’m still warming up.
Literally – I’m not going anywhere, my friend.
I’m right here on the journey with you. I’ll still be here in 10 years, I believe with significantly bigger results.
Today I haven’t attained whizzbang crazy results, because you only get out what you put in.
And I’ve always struggled with the capital side of things.
You know those big Reliable Education success stories? I know most of those people personally.
Their results are genuine, but they worked. More importantly, they had deep pockets.
They knew what it was going to take to make it happen.
(That is…a shitload of money and belief in their product)
That’s all it is. I mean – really. That’s it.
Create an epic product. Believe in it. Go all in.
The biggest challenge
This brings me to highlighting the biggest challenge with Amazon FBA.
It’s just an expensive business model and from my experience, it’s very challenging if you don’t have much in the way of capital. I touched on that in the previous paragraphs actually.
Too often I see people joining courses like this in the hopes of solving their money problems. After a few years, they have made little to no progress.
Given the expenditure, Amazon itself isn’t a business model I would recommend to those who are doing it tough or need to save up for the course.
Instead, consider Uber, Airbnb, digital marketing, Airtasker, using Upwork or even going to work for an Amazon seller. Lower upfront expenditure and much lower risk.
This isn’t the only business model out there guys.
Common support questions I receive about the Reliable Education course
Also, dozens of prospective students have been asking questions about Reliable Education as per the comments which are shown below. Some have also been asked via email and to me in person, so I thought I’d compile a list of the more common ones.
Please remember that any specific questions to Reliable should be addressed to them directly.
Q: How long does the course take to complete?
A: It’s extensive, and as most people are already juggling a few responsibilities, it will take a few weeks. I’ve done the course twice and considering it a third time as Adam keeps adding more excellent content.
In mid-2019 the course went through a major revamp, though the course in the past was still very good for content.
Q: How much do I need to get started?
A: Realistically, $5,000 to $10,000 USD would be a great starting point. I understand the course cost may take a dip into the savings pool.
At the pace that is recommended, the first order won’t be placed for at least 3 months time up to 12 months even, allowing time to build a larger capital base. Some have managed to start with less, as have I, but this isn’t typical.
Q: What are your thoughts on ASM?
A: This is a US-based competitor to Reliable Education with more success stories. I am still working through this training course, so I cannot provide a clear and concise review about the content as I have done here for RE.
What I do know is that you would have to travel to the US to do their live boot-camps (I’ve done one trip already), have a much lower pool of fellow Australians to stay on track with.
The price of that course is $5,000 USD, but it also has almost 30,000 students. That said, this is the God-father of Amazon courses. It remains my #1 recommendation for those in the United States and Canada.
While I’ve helped quite a number of students learn more and get started in this community instead of RE, it’s really for those with a much larger starting capital base. Especially as the course cost is high plus the cost and time to fly over to the US from Australia, NZ and the UK. The bulk of students here in this course are North Americans.
By comparison, I receive tiny commissions from Reliable Education but I’m much happier to recommend this better priced course. It’s one that I can trust to deliver results to those in Australia, NZ, SE Asia, the UK and other parts of the world.
I feel Reliable offers a lot more back-end support too, you can call the team on our time-zone with their headquarters located in Burleigh Heads QLD.
Q: I’m interested in paid coaching. Are you providing that service?
A: After hitting a full-time income, this is a common request and one that I’ve chosen not to offer, as I don’t really think it’s necessary to get started on Amazon. I’m sure I could perhaps make great money doing this. After all, I also do have some great knowledge and experience with Amazon and eCommerce in general.
At the same time, I can’t offer mentoring if I honestly believe that almost everyone will be fine without it. As I’ve said, the RE course and FB community is your mentor.
However, I do provide unlimited email support / mentoring in a general nature for those who sign up using the referral link I provide here. This actually adds no extra to the cost of the course for you.
The Reliable Education provides a welcome call so you can ask direct questions should you need it, plus the excellent Facebook community and live events. The course is extensive and you’ll unlikely need paid coaching upon completion.
I would be open to working with existing businesses/brands looking for someone to launch and manage their product(s) on Amazon.
Q: With so many people learning about how to sell on Amazon, won’t we all be competing with each other?
A: Right now
Most people who sign up for an Amazon Seller Account never actually sell anything.
Reliable Education tends to attract actual action-takers, and many of its students have started selling on Amazon. Entrepreneurship is full of quitters. As long as you can keep your head up and make every step forward, competition is quite unlikely.
There are some niches that perhaps aren’t recommended due to mass market saturation and common-sense, such as iPhone covers and fidget spinners.
Q: How often are the live events?
A: Twice yearly in different cities. The July 2018 conference was held at Gold Coast Convention Center and it was HUGE with 1,500 students! Ita Buttrose was the guest speaker here.
The March 2019 in Brisbane was even bigger with an estimated 2,100 students. John Howard was the guest speaker. I remember when it was just 7 of us in a tiny little Facebook group…those were the days!
Q: Do you have to visit China for sourcing?
A: Not quite, I haven’t personally and I know Adam didn’t go to China for the first 3 years of his Amazon business. All sourcing can be done via Alibaba and associated websites.
Edit: I wrote those first 2 sentences prior to going to my first Canton Fair experience in late 2018. Now I would say it’s highly recommended and saves a lot of time.
Flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide can be had for easily less than $700 return, $300 for a good hotel (3 nights) and the Fair is free.
Some Reliable Education students get together and organize group Airbnb’s for nightly networking and strategizing after the Fair. There’s a real sense of community with the course, this is something I really love about RE.
Q: What do you think of comments on internet forums?
A: Most people are looking for a reason not to join Adam’s community, and I applaud that these comments are online. The Reliable Education Whirlpool comments are from those with no first name, no last name, no face photo, no location and quite simply strangers on the internet. Who are they? Competitors?
On the other hand, I’m putting myself completely out here in the open. My first and last name, my location and photo. Real. Raw. No sugar coating.
I paid my own money to join the course. Then, I put in the work and capital and I got results. I also don’t claim RE is perfect either, as no course is perfect.
It is the best Amazon course that I have done, paired with a strong community.
A further 10,000+ students are on board the Amazon journey, and you’ve found merely a few that didn’t think it was 5 stars.
I was an active member of that forum through 2004 / 2005. Bragging rights – I had the highest feedback rating ‘Incandescent’ as I helped a lot of people.
Unfortunately, there was quite a bit of negativity and sceptical people all around the forums. I walked away in 2006.
It’s tough to find motivated people on an internet forum, especially Whirlpool.
You can destroy someone’s business really easily.
Go create some fake accounts. No name, photo or accountability.
Find your competitor…then boom! Write some nasty comments.
Just fake some bad experience you had. Aint no moderator going to delete that stuff.
It will make you feel better. No proof that you’re a genuine person.
Now, not a single person can confirm that they’re a real student.
Then if you were to write a comment, you’d be seen as a company rep.
It’s almost like an unwritten rule that you can’t write anything positive anywhere on Whirlpool.
So you can’t win either way.
While that’s happening, thousands are inside the RE community and building their businesses right now.
They chose this tribe. The type that gets results.
This comes down to one thing: Choose your tribe.
The high pedigree of Adam’s students is very evident.
Find those who you resonate with and hang out there.
That could be RE or Whirlpool.
Two very different tribes.
Two very opposite ends.
It’s your choice.
On a lighter note
The comments have some truth. That I will respect.
The course content was getting old but had a massive revamp.
Then Platinum Partners is expensive (and not even needed).
And the course has some of Adam’s known connections.
But these are great services, so you don’t waste time shopping.
Or have 10,000 people asking “Who can do high-quality photography?”
Because you’re on a journey that depends on rock-solid services.
If you resonate with a few internet comments more than all the information, content and hundreds of reviews provided, then please don’t join this Amazon community of now 10,000+ happy students. This isn’t for you. I’m serious.
Some people would benefit more from watching on from the sidelines. It’s 100% OK if you choose that path.
Are there gaps in the content?
Yep, some minor parts and the course continues to improve.
Their biggest course update has just launched! Also, I’ll give you my own list of 1,000 products to sell on Amazon if you’re struggling to find something to sell.
Can you ask questions?
Absolutely. Just be smart about it. Very likely it has already been answered in the course or Facebook group already.
Do I allow negative comments?
Absolutely. But there are very few to be found below. The vast majority of people are very happy with this program.
Do you get support?
Yes – the community is extremely friendly and helpful. You’ll also get a welcome call to ask questions. I also provide email support.
It’s true that the work won’t be done for you. We’re big adults now, not children that need spoon-feeding anymore. Sophie Howard is a good alternative if you need a hand to hold.
You’ll need to be resourceful to use the high-quality RE content, tools and resource-rich community posts provided to build an Amazon business.
Adam has almost 20 staff members. If you don’t like that Adam is a well-paid educator, then build your own course.
Why don’t people do that? Because it requires a lot of work, which is why there are so few people teaching this business model.
I’ve pretty much filled the minor gaps with Reliable Education. It’s a rock-solid program, I just went a step further for my genuinely motivated readers like you here.
Q: Surely Adam’s making a small fortune selling teeth-whitening products on Fulfillment by Amazon?
A: I’m sure he is! 😂
Thank you for reading the most in-depth review of Adam Hudson and his Reliable Education Academy. If you do have any more questions, then please comment below.
Also, do set aside 15 minutes to read through the existing comments that have come in from around Australia and the world.
Your FREE Gift, from me to you…
As a thank you for your commitment to read this far, I’ve decided to gift you a copy of my guide “101 Products to Sell on Amazon” which shows the sheer vastness of what you can sell online. You’ll discover products you’ve never considered that are being sold online right now and making many people a full time income.
Initially, I was going to offer this only to those people who signed up to the course through my affiliate link. I quickly decided that I really need to earn that trust with you, and that minimal commission that goes with it.
So firstly, this guide is free for you right now to access. The best part is that you’ll go straight to the PDF ✌️ without any frustrating opt-in forms and the marketing spam that comes with that.
You can access the guide directly with this link, you’ll have to set aside another 15 minutes for this one! It’s 35mb in size so please be patient as it downloads. I really packed it full of content and ideas for you.
Update: I am the original author of this guide. Unfortunately, some “gurus” have overlayered their own branding and called it their own. 🙄 (Like…seriously?!)
Anyway, simply follow these steps:
- Watch this new free video series to sell on Amazon
- Download now and read the book directly here in PDF
Be sure also to read the hundreds of comments and questions that have been shared below within this review down below, plus the numerous praise that I have received for helping people begin their new journey on Amazon.
Some bonuses available for you
If by now you feel this program is right for you, then I’ve got a few bonuses that you’ll receive should you choose to use my Reliable Education referral link provided below.
A free copy of The Ultimate Amazon Product Discovery Guide which is a fantastic resource I created over hundreds of hours of deep digging in the gold mine named Amazon. It contains 1,000+ products as a reference guide. All ready for you to do your own research using the knowledge you’ll gain from the course.
With this consider that I’ve done some of the groundwork for you. I mean, even that previous 101 Products PDF guide would’ve been helpful and give you some light-bulb moments.
Free email support anytime during your Amazon journey, even 7 years from now. I’m in this for the long-haul and I’m still right here since 2011, and more than 3.5 years after starting the Reliable Education journey and putting in some work.
Yes – I enjoy a great income, yet it’s still early days! I also go to the Canton Fair often and would very much welcome the opportunity to network. I could not think of a better place to meet other committed students!
A direct source to factories. Instead of taking a wild guess with factories, I’ll provide
These 2 resources I provide collaborate that
A $100 donation from me to Destiny Rescue who
I truly and humbly believe in giving, as you can see from my review and blog here. It takes $1,500 AUD to free a child, for every 15 students, that’s 1 child that I can rescue. As a parent myself, I’m aiming for 10 children rescued by late next year.
My personal thank you
I want to thank you and really appreciate your focus for reading this far. The support means a lot!
Again, the price of the course is exactly the same to you. The recommended software for product research is Zonguru which I believe is excellent, though there are cheaper alternatives out there with less features.
A discount on ZonGuru
Again, should you feel that I’ve earned a Zonguru commission on top of RE, then you may use this to ZonGuru link with the small monthly cost of the software being the same to you.
I was recently able to score everyone a 50% discount off the 1st month with a 7-day free trial.
Using both my referral links is optional of course. It’s just that you’ll be receiving bonuses from me personally if you decide to use my RE link, plus you’re able to read the initial eye-opening guide that’s already available here.
Both RE and ZonGuru are quite obviously a real win for you, with no increase to their respective prices.
My closing thoughts
I’ve covered Adam Hudson’s course very extensively in this review. I do hope it’s been of value to you.
I did cover the good and the bad quite fairly and I simply want to give you the facts – my opinions, my experiences and my results as a student.
Adam’s minimal referral program doesn’t change my thoughts or opinions at all.
You are most welcome to go directly to RE or through another person’s link.
Chances are that you’re already under a referral link from someone else, a link from weeks or months ago.
They’ll get the little commission when you join the course since there are others promoting Adam’s course on emails, social media and other online advertising methods.
By the way, I am the only person on Google – IMRhys and Ippei aren’t real students.
I’m out here in the open. Being 100% transparent and honest. With a few excellent personal bonuses thrown in too! Again, the choice is yours.
My Cliff Notes are:
- Taking Adam’s course and selling on Amazon changed my life
- It’s not easy, nor is it pitched by RE as being easy. This takes work
- If you desire world-class FBA training and community, then this is it
- I hope you’ll have the courage and motivation to step in and join me
- ….but only if you’re genuinely committed over the next 3 to 5 years.
I look forward to connecting in person at one of Adam’s live events in the very near future, or over in China for the Canton Fair.
Once you’ve gone through to the other side, please email me via the contact page or drop in a comment below. This way can get those bonuses to you right away! You’ll also be helping my mission in helping to end child trafficking.

Summary of Adam Hudson's course
This is a complete summary of this massive review, all broken down into bit-sized chucks. This is based upon many factors, including my direct experiences and success on Amazon. This is how I rate Reliable Education’s course created by Adam Hudson, and I’m sure almost every student who has been through the Academy will agree!
