Australian Alternatives to Amazon: The Definitive List

As an Amazon seller and customer, I felt it was necessary to create the ultimate list for Australians looking for an alternative. This list will continue to grow over time.

I’m Joshua – Australian born and bred. This is home, and will always be home. For years I’ve shopped on Amazon, and paid the outrageous shipping costs from the US. Now, I’m glad they’re here. I also shop and sell on eBay. From Amazon alone I generate a full time income, working minimal hours.

This blog of mine helps thousands of Australians make informed decisions every month. I’ve been here 7+ years, sharing the journey, the tools, the resources that are going to help you succeed online.

So this list contains some obvious alternatives to Amazon Australia, plus some small players too. Whether you’re looking for a new marketplace to sell on, or a customer looking for distinctively different products, you’ll find this list very handy.

Here it goes…

Ebay

No surprise here, they’re the biggest competitor to Amazon. I see their marketshare dwindling over the years though.

Fishpond

Likely you’ve heard of Fishpond, and they’re ranked #3 in Australia

TradeMe

This is NZ’s biggest online marketplace. In fact, 8/10 people in New Zealand have a TradeMe account. It’s our equilavent to eBay Australia.

GraysOnline

A very popular marketplace, especially with liquidation deals and wholesale lots.

MyDeal

A new player in this space, but some excellent deals to be had. Keep an eye on the growth of this company in coming years.

Catch

In only 2 years, this company has scored very highly as an online marketplace. Previously only a daily deals site, their marketplace is full of opportunities.

AsosMarketplace

For the talented and creative types, this marketplace is for distinctively different clothing.

The Summary

This list is ideal if you’re looking for an alternative. That said, Amazon Australia is here and here to stay for good. They’ll be taking over with massive marketshare over the next few years, and it’s for this reason I choose to sell on Amazon today. And you can too!

You see – my good friend Adam Hudson has a course. It’s an excellent course, and it’s FREE. It’s available for you to access right now. You can do so right now through the link available within this page. It’s only for beginners, and those with an open mind.

I hope this list has given you some insight, and food for thought. For those with questions, you’re most welcome to drop them into the field below. I’ll do my best to answer them, as an Amazon and eBay seller.
